My brain - “Wonder if he means green card literally because he has an EB-1A application pending or if he is using the term generically?” (There are multiple different Visa pathways for athletes, but only one that involves getting permanent residency/a green card).
.@shanevg97 says he doesn’t know if he’ll be able to go home in New Zealand this offseason as he’s still waiting for his green card “I’m waiting on your government to give me a green card or not, so I’m stuck here at the moment. … I’d love to be able to come and go but I can’t” #NASCAR #NASCARCupSeriesChampionship

The wait is over! 🏁 🎬 The Rise: The Women of @NASCAR is officially streaming on @peacock! The Rise, is a five-part sports documentary series produced by @hellosunshine (founded by Reese Witherspoon). I’m so excited to be part of this documentary, sharing a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to chase our dreams in one of the most competitive sports in the world. Alongside some incredible women in racing, I had the opportunity to share my journey, the challenges, the determination and the passion that keep me pushing forward every time I get behind the wheel. This is more than a story about racing. It’s about breaking barriers, creating opportunities and showing the next generation of girls that there is a place for them in motorsports. I'm proud to be part of this story and focused on creating opportunities to continue to compete for what's ahead! 🏎️ The Rise: The Women of NASCAR is available NOW, exclusively on Peacock! #TheRise #WomenOfNASCAR #DrivenDifferent #IsabellaRobusto #WomenInMotorsports #NASCAR #ARCA #Peacock

And this is the twist that I’ve been waiting for.
"Fenway Sports Group—the owner of the Boston Red Sox, Liverpool and a Nascar team, among other assets—is one of several suitors currently in talks with Walter’s conglomerate TWG Global to purchase part of his stake in the Cadillac Formula One team." - @WSJ wsj.com/sports/cadillac-form…

As a widow who is coming up on my third Christmas without my husband, I love this. I am so grateful to have the continued love and support of his family, my sister & her family, and beloved cousins who make sure that my holidays are not sad. If you know a widow who would benefit from this, encourage you to fill out the nomination form linked below.
When I lost Kyle, my world changed in ways I never could have imagined. But even in the deepest heartache, God has continued to show me His love through the incredible people who have surrounded me, lifted us up, and carried me through days I never thought I could face. As the holidays approach, my heart is especially with the families navigating this season without someone they love. I know firsthand how heavy this time of year can feel when someone who should be there is missing. I have been blessed beyond words by the kindness, generosity, and love others have shown our family. And as I continue to navigate this journey, I feel called to take some of that love and pour it into others who may need it most. That is why I am so grateful to introduce The Widow’s Wish Project. 8 Women. 18 Families. A Legacy of Love. Through this project, we hope to honor Kyle’s legacy by bringing a little extra love, joy, and light to families who could use it this Christmas. The nomination application is officially OPEN and can be found in my bio or here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F… Nominations close November 9th. Please share this video in hopes of reaching widows across the country who need a little extra love this holiday season. “The God of all comfort… comforts us… so that we can comfort those in any trouble.” — 2 Corinthians 1:3–4

This is a pretty significant development given that as of late August the messaging was “TWG is not considering exiting its stake in the Cadillac Formula 1 team or any other part of TWG Motorsports”.
"Mark Walter is shopping his Cadillac F1 team with an asking price of at least $3 billion, according to three people familiar with the process. There are at least seven parties interested in the team, which is wrapping up its Formula 1 season." - @Sportico sportico.com/business/team-s…

And now it is time to question if the TWG Global federal investigations and need to repay loans from the Group 1001 insurance companies could impact Spire. Cadillac F1 is the crown jewel of the TWG Motorsports portfolio and joins the Lakers, Chelsea FC, and the Sparks as sports assets being sold by Walter.
BREAKING: Mark Walter is looking to sell his Cadillac Formula 1 team with an asking price of $3 billion, according to @Sportico. Walter has repeatedly said his other sports assets aren't for sale, but recent lawsuits may force his hand. READ MORE: huddleup.substack.com/p/mark…

FULL press conference here: youtu.be/dQYCM3eRKIw
Brad Keselowski: Not making an announcement but an "update" because "a few things have changed, some very recently." (Thread)

So the business divorce may not end up being amicable after all as it sounds like the press conference was a game of chicken that Brad won to be able to start seeking out driving opportunities for next year. Big nugget substantive information was confirmation that he owns 20% of RFK, given that it was previously unclear as to if he owned 5% or 20%. Presuming RFK LLC owns the two charters, buying him out is not going to be cheap.

Sidenote, that he owns 20% explains to me how he was able to make a buyout offer, again presuming that RFK LLC owns the two charters. His 20% ownership of two charters definitely would be enough to leverage financially with investors or partners.

JRG v Gabehart & Spire update - the court granted an unopposed/joint motion to have a higher page limit for summary judgment briefing yesterday. Good to see they can agree on something. 😉 I fully expect multiple different motions for summary judgment among the parties on both the claims and counterclaims, to some for partial summary judgment and others for complete summary judgment. The court has already set aside December 15 for hearing those as well as motions related to trying to disqualify the other side’s experts

Update on JGR v Gabehart & Spire - the parties engaged in mediation at the end of September but did not reach a resolution at the settlement conference. Of note, the mediator identified that efforts to resolve are ongoing such that he is not ready to say that they are at an impasse. As mentioned before, it is not surprising that the parties were not able to resolve at the settlement conference given that they are still awaiting the outcome of some pretty important motions and the finalization of discovery. I would not be surprised if this is a case where summary judgment motions will have to be filed (if not decided) before settlement discussions get closer to resolution.
