A silver lining amidst Tuesday’s election loss.
Republican Michael Alfonso, the son-in-law of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, won the open seat race for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District on Tuesday, becoming the youngest Member of Congress, and they first born after 2000.
Alfonso ran a campaign aligned with the Make America Healthy Again movement.

The governor-elect of Texas, Gina Hinojosa, has explicitly said that all currently permitted datacenters in Texas will be allowed to finish construction. This essentially covers all of the 2027 and likely well into 2028.
She is going to pass laws that ensure that all *newly* permitted datacenters going forward for delivery in 2028/2029 will pay taxes, commit to no increase in power prices for consumers, don’t impact water availability for people, be constructed with union labor and give “Texans a seat at the table.”
Sounds reasonable. She doesn’t want to lose a lot of good blue collar jobs and property taxes for small towns in rural Texas.
Datacenter commentary starts at 6:30 in this interview.
Also attaching her official campaign position from her website in the next post.
Sidenote: After watching a bunch of her speeches and interviews, I do think she is a political talent and probably has a future in national politics.

OCTOBER JOBS:
The U.S. added 165,000 jobs in October. Forecasters expected about 65,000.
• Actual: +165K
• Est.: +65K
• Prior: +60K (revised up from +29K)
Unemployment edged down to 4.1% from 4.2%. August and September got revised up by a combined 84,000, so those months were stronger than the first prints showed.
Most of the hiring was in professional and business services (+70,000), health care (+42,000), and transportation and warehousing (+25,000). Average hourly pay rose 0.4% on the month and 3.1% over the past year, to $38.00.
One soft spot: people stuck in part-time work who want full-time hours jumped by 339,000, to 4.8 million.
A hotter jobs print usually keeps the Federal Reserve focused on inflation rather than cutting rates fast. Next report is Friday, December 4.

Trump's economy is not just good, but great. Growth at 3.4% and unemployment down to 4.1% with today's jobs report. Inflation is higher than it should be, as are gas prices. Tariffs and war are to blame plus Biden-era hangover. But this is, economically, a very successful admin.

“I have much more darker designs in store for people like you.”
He rejects impeachment, lawyers, and jail. He wants camps, public torture, and blood.

I don't believe so many folks are blaming inflation and Iran and completely forgot about 40+ year high inflation under Biden and Ukraine was now year 5.

“Affordability” seems to be the mandate for the new Democrat majority. So they need to either find a “magic wand” to bring prices down quickly, or they need to….give money to people (so the high prices are made “affordable”) yet again. Only causing more inflation.
