A alternative vision was offered during the #SSRGConference2026. A new PSB no TV licence but funded via a mobile phone and broadband levy. The BBC Scotland Channel helped remove STV2.
The BBC set up BBC Scotland to fail. Its best and most popular programmes were shown also on BBC1 or 2 Scotland while Scotland football internationals were also on BBC 1 or 2. There was no attempt to build an audience. Plus the awful biased news coverage. They succeeded.

There was some very interesting statements made during the #SSRGConference2026 the live recordings can be found on our SSRG TV YouTube Channel.
Prof Alf Baird, from the stage at @SSRG2021 on Friday 16 Oct 2026: “The national party makes an accommodation with the colonial power… becomes part of the racket… its main purpose is to delay… it becomes an implement of coercion… it holds back the radicals.” He was describing the SNP.

A Scottish broadcaster and a new PSB without a #BBC TV licence was proposed by me at the #SSRGConference2026. No new ideas from the stale #SNP I'm afraid. Watch Scotlands future being debated on the #SSRG TV YouTube Channel. youtube.com/@thefuture48?si=…

Full HD recordings will be uploaded to the SSRG TV YouTube Channel this week. The venue has no CAT 5 internet connection despite the request before booking and no 2.4 GHZ WiFi because the Fife College has phased it out. Without any realisation that every mobile phone every laptop has 2.4 GHZ while only new devices have 5 GHZ. I had 4 laptops 3 of them couldn't connect to the internet. We had to use a mobile 4G antenna 📶 to get a fast enough connection. The venue sound system uses a HDMI connection to route sound via the big screens. It creates a delay and echo. For a building that was purpose built as a conference centre it cannot deliver the most basic technical requirements. The staff are helpful but the building has too many short comings and no sign posts. I want to thank everyone who bought a ticket we had over 200 delegates and over 2,000 online and rising. The Streaming and AV team Stuart and Gary I take my hat's off to you it looks great. To all the guest speakers thank you and especially to @IainDale who took up my offer and despite our opposing views on Scotland and England's current conditional position I think we share some basic principles on human rights and democracy. He also received some applause. Just for the record the SSRG book shop top 3 selling titles were: 1. The Common Good Economy 2. Alex Salmond Against the Odds 3. Have I said Too Much I also want to put a shout out to Dott who is 91 yes old and attended all 3 days. A sharp mind she told me "this has been one of the best conferences I've ever attended". Thank you all.

"the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lavrov mentioned the UN Security Council meeting a few weeks ago... that he basically requested the UN Secretariat to come forward with an opinion on Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland" "The UN General assembly declarations on decolonization assert that territorial integrity does not permit colonialism or internal colonialism. "So peoples have the right to resist political structures that are imposed without equal partnership. Again, part of international law and something we know in Scotland particularly well, there is no equal partnership. "There is a massive weighted majority of MPs that can vote against Scotland's interest every time. "Just a point there, about recent events and the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lavrov mentioned the UN Security Council meeting a few weeks ago, that he basically requested the UN Secretariat to come forward with an opinion on Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. "And all these are issues that the international community are wanting the new Secretary General to work on and to deliver some kind of decision. So that's why the timing of what we're doing at Liberation Scotland, Salvo, providing that information to the UN is opportune. It's the right moment. "Also, bear in mind that the UN is going through massive reform and will be going through significant reform soon. Probably more dictated by the desires and needs and rights of the BRICS countries, the newer member states, if you like, over the last 50, 60 years, rather than the imperial powers that dominate it at the moment. "And within that context, new claims to self-determination will be expected to be considered, within that reforming structure of the UN. There's a lot of positive signs there. "Essentially what the Russian Foreign Minister also stated was that territorial integrity comes in a sense secondary to self-determination. A state cannot claim territorial integrity if it's denying its people's self- determination. The Scottish case, Irish, Welsh as well, is a valid point there. Other countries are looking at this very carefully."
