Up and out on this fine Sunday morning! The coach is booked for 12pm so arrival time at school is estimated for 1:15pm
We will get your wonderful children to text once they’ve set off and I’ll update asap.
All back safe! Showers in sight 👀
Most of our photos are like this until our participants send them through…
All groups have survived Great Hograh Moor and are onto the Esk Valley walk.
Some difficult navigation today (even without the fog!)
We’re very proud of everyone’s effort so far #DofE #SilverExpedition
What a morning 🌧️ everyone is well underway. The fog over the moor has lifted which is most welcome; groups are stopping in different places for lunch.
I’ve taken a photo of a great little ford and pedestrian bridge for our Engineers out this weekend…every day is a school day
Everyone is back and there are smiles all round. We’re back at one of our newest campsites for this assessment and we love it. No signal and plenty of wildlife, sorry for the lack of updates to families!
The last two groups are off to their start point in the minibus! All other groups are underway. Let’s hope the weather holds! ☀️🥾🏕️ #DofE #SilverExpedition
We hope our students have the best few days! It looks like a scorcher across Europe! Scotland, not so much…
Follow @stlcsdurham for updates ☀️🇮🇹🇫🇷🇳🇱🏴

Huge congratulations to Owen Farmer and Andrew Thomas, winning the Brittania and Thames Challenge Cups respectively today. Joining the ranks of only a handful of ex-St Leonard's @HenleyRegatta winners. See the final moments of Owen's victory below #Obelisk
We have our first champions of the day! 🙌
Congratulations to Thames R.C. 👏 #HRR24
They’re on the coach and heading back to school! ETA 14:15 - pupils have been advised to contact parents and I’ve double checked the time this week! 🤦🏻♀️
Well done and the biggest thank you to Mr McMullan 👏🏻🥾🗺️⛺️🧭
Well done to all our students with @STLDDofE as they complete their weekend away. And a thank you to Mr McMullan who led the weekends this year and all the teachers who have given their time. 5 weekends, 300 students, 100 miles and a fair few midges! Definitely worth it!
These are some of our fantastic teams this weekend! We have some shy bairns when it comes to taking photographs but I have more from staff incoming 😎 #DofE #SilverAssessment #GoldPractice
Lots going on on our new campsite ⛺️Tents galore.
We have 2 groups to get back but the end is in sight! #DofE
