My continued problem with Joey McGuire is stuff like this. It’s great to own mistakes but this is the part of the job you can’t screw up. In game it was abundantly obvious that Hammond doesn’t have it, get on the horn and make the shift. Especially late game.

Another thing of note on the rewatch 2 Fourth down attempts you had 2 pre snap penalties. Brutal penalties that cost you. WR’s were separating Will ran into a few sacks / late on reads when WR were open .

Did a dreaded re-watch of the Cincinnati game . Couple points here . You Ran a total of 7 personnel groupings. You were in 11 personnel 56% of the time. Of your 24 Runs : 14 were inside zone You ran the Smash concept 5 times with the H Back . You pulled past the center a total of 4 Times ( all successful plays) Your O line has no chance when the defense knows what’s gonna happen . Our Run Scheme is very basic.

Yes this is true we’re all 100% grateful for the success we’ve enjoyed the past few years , that being said this is the spot you wanted to achieve with this big push to be an elite football program. The product this season and especially this Saturday with the expectations on this program is not good enough. That’s a good thing.
