Fowl Play? Accusations of Fraud Mar Barnyard Balloting
Possible headlines I should pitch for I-86 coverage: - Despite goosed up turnout, D.C. voters duck foie gras ban - What the duck? Flock of D.C. voters foist foie gras out of town

This is so much better than Evil Ferret or whoever that guy was
Imagine putting together an entire halftime show based off of one woman doing a cover of Thunderstruck on xylophone……and having it KICK TOTAL ASS!

I will not live in the pod, I will not drink the cockroach milk, I will not... nitter.gq/nypost/status/21162437…
Nutritious cockroach milk could be next superfood - and you'll never believe how it's extracted trib.al/W2FGJob
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Cockroach "milk" is a protein crystal secretion nourishing embryos inside one cockroach species; it is not practically harvestable, scalable, or shown safe for human consumption, contrary to superfood hype. healthline.com/nutrition/cock… m.economictimes.com/us/science-tec… bio.purdue.edu/news/articles/…

David Lynch’s DUNE is great
As an apparently rare aficionado of David Lynch's 1984 "Dune," I should mention that Patrick Stewart played Gurney Halleck in it.

One of the more amusing anachronisms in Academia Discourse is the “faculty lounge”, as if we weren’t making bad coffee in the supply closet or eating slop bowls in unused conference rooms.

Some of us have been doing this for years, but it’s nice that Harvard, Stanford, and the NY Times are figuring it out.
I guest lectured in two friends' course at Stanford last week, and my same material took 50% longer to cover than the prior year because they implemented a no tech in class rule, which led to a big jump in student engagement and questions. Higher standards = More learning.

Today I issued an Executive Order designating “Seminole Wind” by John Anderson as the official anthem of Florida. I have also directed the @FLSecofState to erect historic markers in the City of Apopka depicting John Anderson’s contribution to Florida’s heritage. In addition, I have tasked @FLDEPNews to work with the @SJRWMD to designate wildlife drive and trail system within Lake Apopka North Shore as the John Anderson Wildlife Drive and Trail System.

Persons experiencing mummification
"Gosh, why are the mummy displays so dark and opaque? Must be the lights are broken. I should go tell them downstairs," I thought to myself while recently wandering around the Redpath Museum at McGill University. Then I read the sign. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

The children are under strict orders not to fight in the car. The result is solemn promises to punch each other as soon as they get home.

We used to be a proper country
The Lincoln Memorial sits in land that was once in the Potomac. Not marshland but in the Potomac itself. The Army core of engineers at one point dredged the river and created some islands. The memorial itself rests on pillars sunk into the bedrock. Here are the concrete pillars that lie beneath and supports 38,000 tons of marble, granite, and limestone—sunk into the bedrock. About 110 of them. Going many feet below the visible floor.

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA tried to tell us, but did we listen?
Maybe one trend that AI will reverse is the absolutely stupid practice of connecting things to the Internet that have no business being connected to the Internet.
