Watch Sir Alex Ferguson in the dressing room and you understand what Manchester United have lost. This was a club where standards were demanded, not negotiated. 🗣️ Alex Ferguson: “The other thing is some of the passing is scratchy. Get the passing fluid. Good touching the ball. You don't always need to pass it first time. You tried it in the ones that took the 15, 20 minutes and you lost it. Take a touch in the ball.” “No easing up. Come on now. Listen. Don't let yourselves down here now. Don't even attempt it.” Look at the difference. Fergie was correcting the smallest details, then making it clear that nobody had permission to switch off. Every pass mattered. Every player was accountable. That was the culture at United under Fergie. Today, the club still talks about getting back to the top — but the standards and relentless hunger in this dressing room feel a world away. United need that mentality back. via ITV Sport (YT)
