People forget Darryl Strawberry and Dwight "Doc" Gooden hammered dust daily during their hay day with the New York Mets. During the 1986 parade, Doc was no where to be found and missed the championship parade. He later admitted he was doing coke at a drug dealers apartment in Queens. Imagine being a world champion, a Cy Hung award winner and not being able to show up to a parade because you just need to funnel dust that bad. Is that baseball? Or is that porn? Whatever it is, that is so nails. I'm pretty sure Darryl Dustberry had a bag on him at all times to boot. Like the type of guy to take a key bump before a big at bat. Some guys need caffeine. Some need old school Colombian Whatever dials your chin in works. Playoff baseball used to be different. October ball is still great. But the cast of characters are less and less.
