This is where higher education really needs to develop partnerships with businesses to create an employment pipeline for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as alumni who need career assistance. ROI for students isn’t graduating, it’s being employed with a fair salary.
This is such a bleak story about what it's like to try to land a job right now. nytimes.com/interactive/2026…

Less than 10 years ago, many in higher ed would scoff at the notion of a university closing. So many underestimated the power of online education and how it met students’ needs. Now they are having trouble competing.
The University of Providence will close at the end of its current academic year. The college said enrollment declines and rising financial pressure led to the decision. Read more details: chroni.cl/4eTY2xh

.@JamesTalarico’s message to Gen Z: “You may not be interested in politics, but politics is interested in you. Your boss cares about politics. Your landlord cares about politics. Your insurance company cares about politics. And until you care about politics, they're gonna keep using the political system to screw you over.”

This is a real man. Love that he plays for my team! 💙❤️
Tyrese Maxey on whether he changes his baby's diaper: "I'm a big diaper changing guy. I take pride in the speed that I'm able to change a diaper and keep her from crying. So I'm a big diaper change guy, big feed guy, big nap guy. I'm all of it, wake up in the middle of the night, go get it. I do it all man. I try to cherish these moments, cause it feel like already now she trying to crawl and do different things. So she's already moving too fast for me"

Hey @Meta 👋We are currently hosting a get-out-the-vote rally in Osceola County, home to a large Puerto Rican community, and our #LatinosConAngie @instagram page was suddenly taken down while we were actively posting content from the event. This page is a critical communication tool for reaching Latino voters and mobilizing our community. With just seven days until Election Day, every minute matters. We are calling on Meta to immediately restore the page and provide an explanation for its removal. Voters deserve access to critical election information, especially in these final days. @andymstone

The guy in the cowboy hat next to LeBron spends about $500,000 a year on courtside seats, and he pays for it with rent from retirees who can't take their homes and leave. His name is James Goldstein. He's been to more than 5,000 NBA games, and he owns trailer parks in Southern California. Here's the thing about trailer parks most people never think about. You own your home, but you rent the little patch of dirt it sits on. And "mobile" homes almost never move. The Supreme Court looked at this back in 1992 and noted that only about 1 in 100 ever gets moved once it's set down. Moving one can eat a huge chunk of what the house is even worth, and a lot of parks won't accept older homes anyway. So if the landlord raises your lot rent, you can pay it, or you can walk away from a house you own outright. That's basically the whole business model. It's why more than 100 cities and counties in California put rent control on mobile home parks, and it's why Goldstein has spent decades fighting them in court. In 2006 he bought Colony Cove, a park for seniors in Carson, for about $23 million, most of it borrowed. The next year he asked the city to let him raise rent $618 a month per lot. The city said no. He's sued Carson at least eight times since, including a $78 million claim a state judge threw out. A federal jury gave him $3.3 million in 2016, and an appeals court took it back two years later. In Palm Springs he tried something smarter. He moved to break his El Dorado park into individually owned lots, which can knock out local rent control and leave residents choosing between buying the ground under their own house or paying market rent. The city paid him $937,500 to settle, and the appeals ruling from that fight gave park owners all over California a legal path to do the same thing. It took a new state law in 2013 to let cities block those conversions when residents don't want them. To give him his due, Goldstein argues rent control is unfair to owners, and when it comes to apartments a lot of economists would back him up. Trailer parks are where that argument gets a lot harder to make, because leaving means hauling your house down the freeway. Now do the math on that 2007 raise. $618 a month comes out to about $7,400 a year per lot. The raise on roughly 67 lots would pay for an entire season of his courtside seats.
James Goldstein is a millionaire NBA superfan who reportedly spends over $500,000 a year on courtside seats.

NEW AD: Have you seen these anti-Talarico attack ads? Elon Musk paid for nearly all of them. The world's first trillionaire knows if he drags the most corrupt politician in Texas across the finish line, Ken Paxton will owe him everything. @ElonMusk: Texas is not for sale.

Josh Jacobs grabbed a woman trying to leave his garage, threw her to the ground and strangled her. I highly doubt LaFleur would be saying this if someone did this to his wife. Domestic violence needs to be taken seriously.
#Packers HC Matt LaFleur on RB Josh Jacobs’ return: “I think a lot of times you get in a situation where you might not make the right decision. I think people learn from their mistakes. He’s extremely remorseful. I do believe he is a good person. I’ve been around him quite a bit. I believe in second chances.”

It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically. Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country. Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case. Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve. In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota. The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

I’m pleasantly surprised to see Fox 45 hold Rep. Andy Harris accountable in this interview. The station is fairly conservative, owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group. We need more media to stand up to this behavior.
Rep Andy Harris defends his viral exchange where he threatened to have a student journalist arrested at a press conference for taking video of him. Fox45 not having it.
