black americans want solidarity when racism is directed at them, but suddenly forget what solidarity means when the conversation turns to africans. they’ll speak about shared struggles, shared skin colour and shared history, then turn around and use poverty, accents, infrastructure and stereotypes to make africans feel inferior.
you cannot demand that the world respect your identity while treating another black community like an embarrassment. african ancestry isn’t something you get to acknowledge only when it’s convenient.

Some of these comments are missing the bigger picture. Content creation is a job now and it has created income opportunities for people who would otherwise be sitting at home unemployed. It has allowed young people to build businesses, employ others, work with brands and turn their creativity into a livelihood.
You don’t have to enjoy the content people create, but that doesn’t mean you should dismiss the economic opportunities that come with the industry. We cannot constantly talk about unemployment among young people and then undermine alternative ways they’re finding to make a living.
The question was about why South African creators don’t have the same monetisation opportunities as creators in other countries. That’s a legitimate economic question not an invitation to police what people should be creating.

We really need to protect our most priced treasures because God knows the amount of pain these artists experience behind close doors is unimaginable, one would say it comes with the job but I can tell you for free it still doesn’t make it easy.
This is such a beautiful video
