"Reform's alternative budget released today includes many proposals that will finally get Britain's economy growing again. Abolishing the Energy Profits Levy will play a crucial role in ensuring the country's energy security, which a recent ASI index ranked below Romania and Ukraine. Windfall taxes undermine the incentive on firms to be ready to drill when prices are high: without them, the UK's domestic energy supply will be far more secure, and the country will be less vulnerable to price hikes and energy crises. It will also lower electricity costs at a time of eye-wateringly high energy prices, which will cost the average family an extra £206 in the coming year. The alternative budget's proposals will also give a desperately needed boost to housebuilding. Leaving the Aarhus convention, which paralyses planning reviews and raises costs for developers, will make it easier and faster to build new homes. Repealing Biodiversity Net Gain rules will also reduce costs and delays for housebuilders, 94% of which have been hit by delays due to the rule. Taken together, these changes will mean more houses are built faster and for a lower cost - which will go a long way to solving Britain's housing crisis. If done right, planning deregulation like those proposed by this alternative budget could single-handedly raise long-run GDP by 7.05% - a rise of almost £3,000 per person." - Silvia Andreoletti, Head of Communications

Now that their full documentary has aired – after a week of drip-feeding extracts – we can safely say it is a damp squib. To be clear, it does show a few Reform councillors and activists making some appalling comments – racist, misogynistic, you name it. But absolutely any political party, organisation or business subjected to a year-long fly-on-the-wall sting, with every possible conversation recorded and attempts to coax as much incriminating language out of people as possible, would reveal some disgusting language and viewpoints. ✍️ Ameer Kotecha Article | spectator.com/article/why-di… | @Ameer_Kotecha

This morning, I signed a landmark trade agreement with Tainan in Taiwan, strengthening ties between our regions and creating new opportunities for trade, investment and innovation. Greater Lincolnshire has a huge amount to offer, and this agreement is another step towards showing the world what we do best. 🇹🇼 🇬🇧

UK mayors cannot sign binding international trade agreements (reserved for central UK government); official descriptions refer to this as a non-binding MOU for local cooperation, not a landmark trade deal. greaterlincolnshire-cca.gov.uk/news/article/6… citp.ac.uk/publications/t…

Big businesses are laying off British staff while importing thousands of migrant workers. They shouldn’t be able to get away with shafting our own like that.

If you want to talk about foreign governments meddling in British politics. The pro-EU group "UK in a Changing Europe" admitted this week that they have been funded by the Spanish Government. Why on earth would the Spanish Government be funding a pro-EU outlet in the UK?

I will not tolerate countries who won't take back illegal migrants. I'll impose tariffs, airline bans and visa bans on any country that refuses. Only Reform will end the invasion of our country forever.

We told Amber Valley to back Reform yesterday. Result: Green GAIN from Conservative Reform finished top of the right, as we said they would, just 57 votes short. If roughly 1 in 11 Conservative and Restore voters had backed Reform, it would have been a Reform gain.

Years of record net migration, and the Tories admit they "didn’t notice." This admission alone should ensure they are never again trusted to run the country.

In their conference tapestry, the Conservative Party somehow failed to mention the arrival of 4,200,000 migrants (the so-called "Boriswave") that arrived under the last Conservative government. If they had, this is what it might look like!

This morning on @bbcr4today Andrew Griffith revealed the Conservatives would abandon British carmakers and allow Chinese companies to carry on cheating by dumping their state-subsidised vehicles in our country. Why would we not protect our own domestic car making industry with tariffs as other countries do? These are British jobs for British workers which are being devoured by anti-competitive China trying to kill off UK competitors. We need to wake up. Reform is the only party that will protect British car manufacturing for the long term. We will use tariffs in the short run to protect against Chinese dumping, while reforming energy policy and abolishing electric car mandates to allow the industry to rebuild over time.
