IT'S SUMMER and I'm very excited that my book that only came out a couple of months ago is in @ManchesterUP's 50% off sale! You can just go to their website and add it to the basket and the discount should get applied automatically.
Here's the link: manchesteruniversitypress.co…
Very excited to deliver a book talk as a part of my book launch tomorrow at @QuorumQMUL. You can join us online or in person by registering on eventbrite.co.uk/e/book-laun… <3
I'm coming out of hibernation to tell you all that my book Abnormal Peripheries is here and it's gorgeous and I love it! It tells the story of performance on cultural peripheries, arguing for historiography from the side as an essential way of understanding the centre.
Ask your library to get it! Get it yourself! Get it for yourself, for your family, for your dog! Let me know what you think, I'd love to hear all your thoughts and all! You can get here here: manchesteruniversitypress.co…
Thank you to @ManchesterUP for giving it the best home ever!
I'm also throwing a book launch at @QMULsed 's @QuorumQMUL on 15 April. I'll be joined by performer Pianka Pärna who'll be showing a piece alongside the book talk. Please, join me there to celebrate and chat! 🥰
It will be held online and in-person: eventbrite.co.uk/e/book-laun…

I really said 'i'm gonna take the day slow cuz I'm having a bit of a mental health day today' and then started working at 8 and haven't stopped since - what the hell is going on? :D

Honestly, I feel like grindr guys should all get acquainted with academia cuz y'all can't deal with rejection and academia really gives you a quick crash course in that
Guess which tired, overworked academic just submitted his book draft to the publisher?
And yes, the facial expression perfectly captures my current feelings 😅

400 job cuts announced at Cardiff University.
The Vice Chancellor has said “not to change was not an option.”
Maybe the Vice Chancellor could propose a change to her £290,000 salary or give her company car back.
UCU will deliver a widespread fightback against these attacks.

Congrats to @Sam_Cermak from @UoMDrama, winner the #IFTR2024 New Scholars' Prize and a Research Excellence medal. His essay titled 'Nude In Water: Slovak Body Art and Feminist Politics in the Work of Ľuba Lauffová' historicised the work of an under-theorised artist.
I finally had my graduation yesterday but finishing the PhD only hit me then too. I'll miss big parts of it but especially my supervisor and friends and colleagues I made along the way. 🥰🎓
Trying to get rights and reproductions of photographs of this amazing but under-researched artist. I'm now 11 people down a list from the original person telling me to contact someone else 😭
I genuinely love my job. I love teaching, I love learning, I love writing, I love sharing, and I love listening. But goddamn I'm so tired. I'm 28 and I'm knackered of this. How have we decided that this is how we organise our lives, with so much of it taken by labour?
