FINAL- WESTFIELD 29, CHAUG 28
Unbelievable sequence to end the game. Down 1, caugh recovers the onside kick, only to fumble away the game on the very next play.
Wild. Bombers win.
4TH 5:42— Westfield 29, Chaug 20
The Bombers did something I personally haven’t seen in a long time.
Up by 7 after the score, they decided to go for 2 to make it a 2 possession game, and succeeded.
START 4TH — Westfield 21, Chaug 20
Falcons tried to take the lead by going for 2 but got stuffed a few minutes before the 3rd ended.
HALF — Minnechaug 14, Westfield 14
Pouring has stopped but the points haven’t. Fourth down conversions have been the theme so far at Falcon Field.
Minnechaug vs. Westfield… delayed for almost two hours… now starting.
Two 3-2 teams hungry. Lil’ AA League after dark action.

GAME — Central 21, Xaverian 14
A 4th down stop by the Golden Eagles. Huge boost for a program that lost their starting QB in week 1.
I’ll have the story for @MassLiveHS
4TH 2:01 — Central 21, Xaverian 14
With 120 seconds to go, Xaverian has the ball at its own 21, and a final opportunity to tie the game.
4TH 5:21 — Central 21, Xaverian 14
Central took a 14 point lead on another rushing touchdown, but Sargent Chizmadia gives Xaverian life after a 95-yard house call on the ensuing kickoff.
Got a good one here in Springfield.
END 3RD — Springfield 14, Xaverian 7
Xaverian had a receiver wide open with 30 yards of room on a trick play, but he wasn’t found. A play later, Xaverian coughs it up to Springfield. Major swing with 12 minutes to go in the game.
3RD 11:38 — Central 14, Xaverian 7
Isaiah Rodgers with an 86-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage in the half.
Kid is a problem.
HALF — Central 7, Xaverian 7
Game defined by special teams up to this point. Six punts combined, with a blocked punt and fake punt mixed in.
2ND 3:22 — Central 7, Xaverian 7
Hawks QB Will Wood takes it himself for a 19-yard rushing TD. Xaverian had zero going on offense the entire half, but a fake punt on 4th and 5 led to Wood’s score.
2ND 10:17 — Central 7, Xaverian 0
Jahir Charles picked off on 4th and 15… Xaverian ball on its own 5 yard line.
END 1ST — Central 7, Xaverian 0
Only 4 pass attempts combined in the quarter, leading to a fast start.
1ST 2:49 — Central 7, Xaverian 0
Long drive ends in an Isaiah Rodgers 21-yard receiving TD. The 4⭐️ Notre Dame commit getting hot at the right time.
Friday Night Lights!
Springfield Central (1-1) taking on Xaverian (2-0). Golden Eagles without star QB Jareth Staine. Jahir Charles scheduled to make the start under center.

FINAL: SJP 29, Springfield Central 14
A Jareth Staine injury was the downfall of Central on opening night. SJP was “carried” by its defense, according to Head Coach Brian St. Pierre.
Jahir Charles gets picked off. SJP can’t get a TD, but it’s FG makes it a two possession game.
As I was typing, Central returned the kick for a house call, but holding made the TD disappear. Two plays later, SJP got a pick-6. This game is virtually over.
SJP 29, Central 14.
