I get that the Big 5 is tricky to keep alive. I get that schools need $$ more than ever. I also hate that absolutely nothing matters anymore - not tradition, not fan interest, not commitment to peers, not the greater good - except making money.

Villanova finally admits it isn’t a Philly school!
BREAKING: Big 5 men’s basketball schools to move forward with round-robin format without Villanova in 2027-28, from @Jeff_Neiburg in @phillysport With the current format nearing the end of its contract, Villanova was not interested in keeping with the status quo. The one-day Big 5 Classic tripleheader could still live on. inquirer.com/college-sports/

Weak, cowardly stuff from Villanova. Would be nice if anyone in college sports right now thought about something other than covering their own ass.

These guys truly ruin everything they touch. Pretty apt metaphor.
Replying to @DanLamothe
A group dispatched by Hegseth's team in February attempted to move the historic globe, said to be used by Eisenhower during World War II. They lifted it from its home in an Army office in the Pentagon ... and dropped it.

It’s truly wild that this guy is allowed to be on ESPN’s airwaves.

Totally normal!
YIKES -- Trump loses his shit at a reporter for the third time during this Q&A -- "Wait wait -- Quiet. Quiet!!!! What's wrong with you? Are you a SICK person?"

Yes, Chris Bosh definitely got blood clots in 2015, effectively ending his NBA career, because he had gotten the Covid vaccine.
its totally normal for a 28 year old athlete to have blood clots, its definitely not from an untested vaccine that nearly everyone fell for during mass hysteria over a cold

noteworthy that the ADL did not summon the courage to name *who* used the slur “Shylock”
The term “Shylock” is rooted in a longstanding antisemitic stereotype. Regardless of intent, its use can reinforce harmful tropes about Jews and normalize language that has long been used to target the Jewish community.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Trump used “Shylock” at a Kansas rally Oct. 19 defending Sen. Marshall. ADL’s post omits naming him, unlike its 2025 statement. forbes.com/sites/siladity

One of the stranger things about Mets Peralta discourse is that if they had at midseason traded Sproat/Williams for Pitre/Smith/Gill Hill, it would have been a good trade. Pitre is now the most valuable player in the group of five imo. And that’s ultimately the exchange for them.
