It is a good thing that you are trying to provide info to the ecosystem and signal potential issues.
Let me provide some more context
- Over 5 years full time in Cardano
- First 3 year - co host of Cardano4Climate community - we had multiple proposals - distributed the funds between many community members - and some funds even still stayed in the wallet - overall mostly non paid contribution
- Multiple proposals added my name - but I did not have any role or funding in the proposal
- Early days - relatively small proposals + mostly with other people
- Some proposals were actually aiming to improve the catalyst process
- Later on, a lot of my work is around onboarding companies to Cardano - the amount of work behind the scene to make it happen is huge - just like building infrastructure takes time building trust and working on concrete value added projects takes time - 2 example big projects is Syngenta and Barca - over two years in the work - mostly not scene - and with zero financial compensation
Regarding the 5am proposal - please read the proposal and let’s focus if it brings value to Cardano or not - there are multiple teams involved and it is much bigger than me . For the initial project with Syngenta it is 2 years in the work, and as ADA price dropped, we are co sponsoring this project trying to make sure it is a successful one for the ecosystem. It could be a huge and impactful project for Cardano.
Couple of more comments:
Overall a lot of my time is dedicated to onboarding new companies and teams to Cardano - UNDP SDG accelerator or Techstars are two examples but there are many more - it is mostly done without financial compensation, as contribution to the ecosystem.
We need to improve business frameworks to onboard companies & adoption to Cardano. This is why I joined the GMC last October and recently also the CPC - here are couple of resources I worked on:
Coordinated Adoption Framework - docs.google.com/document/d/1…
Cardano enterprise adoption framework docs.google.com/document/d/1…
And here is a recent tweet re adoption: nitter.gq/YoramBenzvi/status/206…
This treasury cycle showed us how complex it is to get funding out of Infra & Tech. As you suggest to bring new teams, there were also some proposals by new teams - but they did not get through....
Will keep on trying my best to support the ecosystem and provide some options for path forward such as 5am.earth which I consider as a vertical go to market approach - here is some more info re the idea: nitter.gq/Elkconnect_web3/status…
A Vertical Go-to-Market for Cardano 🌱
5am.earth is a strong example of a vertical GTM approach for Cardano — where many Cardano solutions and companies benefit together.
Here's why:
1. A disruptive solution for a massive problem: 5am is a blockchain-based information trust layer for farmers — that aims to connect dozens of business applications with a total approachable market of 500M+ people.
The core problem 5am solves: → Reducing the cost of information from field to market → Reducing the cost of money from market to field
2. Built on Cardano, end to end 5am uses multiple Cardano-based solutions across both the trust layer and the application layer.
And this is just the beginning — as the farmer base grows, more Cardano applications and ecosystem partners will plug into the trust layer and offer their services.
3. World-class partners ready to scale: 5am partners with multinationals, global organisations, and financial infrastructure providers to scale users and services.
BD activities haven't even started yet. As farmers grow, 5am will onboard more strategic partners (e.g. the microfinance industry) — and keep the flywheel spinning.
4. KPIs aligned with Cardano 2030 Clear, significant, and achievable KPIs through 2027 (users, transactions, TVL) — aligned with Cardano's 2030 vision — and a scaling roadmap towards 2030.
5. Delivering on Cardano's promise: 5am follows Cardano's vision: using blockchain to improve lives by transforming traditional business ecosystems into more efficient, transparent systems — with the greatest impact on those who need it most.
Cardano companies already part of 5am 👇
Trust Layer (already in): @AiquantTech — Cardano developer, @AnastasiaLabs — satellite oracle, @andamio_teams — education & reputation, @VeridianID — decentralized identity, @nmkr_io — NFT infrastructure
Many more can be integrated with progress:
- Oracles: Pyth @Oraclecharli3 @orcfax
- Privacy: @midnightfdn
- Scaling: Midgard / Hydra
- Infrastructure: @agrowlabs @txpipe_tools @SundaeSwap @utxos_dev @FluidTokens @IagonOfficial @BlockSign_io....
Application Layer (part of the new proposal): @ZengateGlobal — traceability & compliance, @Seedstars — financial services, @andamio_io — education & AE credit scoring, — stablecoins - wallets
And many more that can be integrated as we progress, such as: @secondfiapp @trivolvetech @liqwidfinance @USDMOfficial @AnzensOfficial USDX @landanodapp @fida_finance @Plastiks_io @MinswapDEX @clarity_dao … 🙏
The key message: as the farmer base scales, current and new services connect through APIs. The trust layer onboards users. The application layer delivers services. Both layers drive Cardano's 2030 KPIs in a meaningful way.
5am is a collaborative ecosystem vertical — supporting Cardano's vision and delivering on 2030 KPIs. Ecosystem collaboration for Cardano's success.

Cardano Community, it is time to cast your vote!
The 5am earth Foundation proposal is officially live and waiting for your support. This is a massive leap for real-world assets (RWA) on our network.
The proposal funds an open, Cardano-anchored trust layer that connects smallholder farmers to global financial systems, credit, and fair pricing using self-sovereign identity and verifiable on-chain data.
Here is what is on the line for Cardano
Scale from the current 500 daily Mainnet registrations to 500,000 farmers across India, Cambodia, and Kenya.
Drive toward Vision 2030 targets, 3 million active users, $900 million TVL, and 16 to 20 million ADA in annual protocol revenue.
Prove that Cardano can host enterprise-grade, public good infrastructure that generates real economic activity.

Stoked to see all the positive reactions on the TL about this announcement.
Thought I'd give you the inside scoop from the guy whose job it is to bring Cardano to this table.
I wear suits when I need to, but the pfp stays on forever. Get your cuppa, this is an actual read! ☕️
TLDR: 5 years of Cardano x UNDP work just crystallised into a Blockchain Advisory Group launch with @CardanoFoundation as a founding member, a flagship 42-use-case report, and 21 Cardano-linked solutions running live with UNDP on the ground. The thread breaks each one down on scale, on-chain activity, and business model. The bigger question - how pilots become procurement, how this gets funded and governed at scale - that answer is coming.
I've been working with UN agencies since 2021. The hype cycle was running hot. Back then, every institution wanted to "do blockchain."
Most hit the same walls: marketing stunts, shelved pilots, glorified databases, or emotional/philosophical dismissal.
The ones that stayed in the game - learned, iterated, built - are now sitting on something genuinely valuable. @UNDP did that.
Specifically @UNDP_AltFinLab is the clearest example. A rare pocket of institutional freedom to explore alternative finance seriously.
Their theory of change runs three layers deep:
Awareness → Capacity → Acceleration
Research and publications. Events. The Blockchain Academy.
And at the centre: the SDG Blockchain Accelerator.
The Cardano treasury seed funded that Accelerator in @Catalyst_onX F13 (regardless of the CF vote btw).
Not charity. A calculated bet that building both sides of a market - builders who understand procurement-grade requirements, institutions that understand blockchain - was worth funding directly from the community's own resources.
That bet is compounding. Pilot & commercial opportunities are coming to the cohort.
The Accelerator is now multichain. Cohort 3 is coming. Graduates are building real things with real traction post-acceleration.
It also produced "New Tech, New Partners" - UNDP's flagship blockchain report. 42 real-world use cases. Prefaced by the boss of UNDP himself. When UNDP publishes something like that, every public-sector organisation & government on earth takes notice.
Yes Cardano community. You made this happen. You seeded the movement bc you're a blockchain with a purpose.
The BAG launch last week formalises what was already forming: a structured advisory relationship between UNDP and the blockchain industry.
@CardanoFoundation at the table from day one - not by asking to be there, but because the track record got us invited there.
The questions that matter now:
→ How do successful pilots move into institutional procurement?
→ How do UN agencies building blockchain programmes stop duplicating and start collaborating? → How is this funded, governed, implemented at scale?
Pilotitis isn't solved by better pilots. It's solved by building both sides of the market - with capital and political will behind the gap between pilot and procurement.
We're working on that answer. More soon.
Now a nice thread: every Cardano-linked pilot solution featured in "New Tech, New Partners" - starting with the two that have broken out of the pack 👇
we be global & onchain 🌍🌎🌏
PS: some of these pilots were built by web2 & web3 onboarded onto cardano!

Thank you very much for the detailed answers. I’m very satisfied with the explanation, and it gave me a much better opportunity to understand this project more deeply.
The on-chain reputation system for AEs is especially interesting.
At first, adding 400k–500k farmers per year sounded like a very large number to me. But after looking more closely at SFI’s existing network and the organizations involved, I can see why it may be realistic.
Of course, that does not automatically mean all of those farmers are onboarded into 5am.earth with verified data or on-chain records on Cardano. But if data quality is carefully maintained, and if verified data actually leads to better loan conditions, lower interest rates or lower loan costs, shorter review periods, and stronger economic opportunities for farmers, then I can clearly see how this connects to real-world problem solving.
I hope more ADA holders who are not yet familiar with this Cardano-based project will become interested in these details.
I hope 5am.earth receives more attention and deeper discussion.

Thank you very much @shiodome47 for going through the proposal in detail and providing your feedback and questions.
- Yes you are right - our partner Syngenta Foundation India already works with 26k Agri-Entrepreneurs and 2.6 million farmers and growing 400k-500k farmers a year through big brands sponsorship - so basically 5am is getting into this verified network at a very low cost. In the next phase this network is going to be even bigger. Please check globalae.org/
------------
- yes - we have some data already collected by the Agri-Entrepreneurs and some data is collected specifically for this project. We can use the network to collect more data that is relevant for the business applications.
------------
"This turns it into a data infrastructure that's credible and reusable for external organizations like banks, insurance companies, and buyers. The fact that there are already a large number of registered farmers is probably thanks to this existing foundation."
yes, exactly.
------------
"One point of concern is the oracle aspect....it doesn't seem like they're going for full automation with satellite data........ Instead, the design incorporates AEs."
This is a good point: Satellite data is being collected based on the needs of the application layer. In this case for the farmers working with each AE (100-150) so they can support them. There is a lot of flexibility with Satellite data that can be added to the Oracle, but it has a cost so it needs to be connected to the trust layer need or a business application need.
------------
"Of course, when it comes to fraud, how much real accountability can actually be enforced on the individual or AE involved depends on local laws and culture, so it's hard to judge from the outside."
This is an important point. The AE today is part of a trusted network, but we are also adding trust on chain per AE. Using Andamio.io we are adding reputation on chain for what AEs are doing with the app (what they learn and action they are doing). Also through the finance process with Seedstars there will be reputation track record on chain for AE as they can facilitate the loans. More the AE reputation is improving more opportunities for him to make more money.
------------
"being able to build into the design the ability to verify later—who did the verification, what data it was cross-checked against, and whether it can be audited—is a big deal. It's one of those strengths that's unique to blockchain." YES
------------
Regarding the loans KPIs - excellent points. We choose a very strong partner that have a lot of experience in landing structure - check out this post: nitter.gq/Elkconnect_web3/status… - we will track many of the KPIs you mentioned and there will be a credit score on chain per farmer. We will use 5am.earth info for an initial small loan of $100 and grow the loan amount as credit score improves. Our goal is to show we can reduce the loan % amount (which is very high today) and the loan review period to benefit the farmer and the service provider.
------------
For MS3 loan amount is not depending on ADA price. The $2m will be external. Please review again credentials for Seedstars, as they have a lot of experience in structuring such deals.
------------
Hope we answered your questions. Feel free to ask more questions as needed.
ありがとう
Wrote this a few weeks back and touches on the strategy @emurgo_io and @Cardano_CF have taken with the work they are doing in the @UNDP_AltFinLab Working Group alongside several other key players in our industry.
This is quite a big step forward and a win win scenario for people on the ground, builders, ecosystem, development institutions and governments.

The past 12 months we’ve been busy deploying traceability and supply-chain solutions in the field.
One thing we keep seeing is the gap between how systems are designed, and what actually happens when they reach the people and places they depend on.
Getting this right can make or break whether a system is ready to succeed...and more importantly, whether it is ready to scale.
A few thoughts on the “bush-to-boardroom” gap and what we have been learning at @ZengateGlobal and @palmeconomy.
Grateful for the amazing partners we get to work with.
Keen to hear whether others are seeing similar challenges in their respective fields.
