PEKA has blamed deforestation at Bukit Cerakah for yesterday’s flash floods in Shah Alam that damaged property and displaced residents.
"PEKA warned the Selangor government of these dangers in June 2025. Yet, 17 months later, Shah Alam is flooding again. How many more warnings must be ignored?" it said.

Over 500 homes were affected by flash floods following heavy rain yesterday, particularly in Kampung Melayu Subang, Sungai Buloh.
Affected residents were evacuated to a temporary relief centre at Dewan Siantan.
Floods were also reported in Denai Alam, Damansara Uptown and several parts of KL, disrupting traffic and inundating roads.
