It's true both Mao and Stalin polled very well. In fact, very few people gave an unfavorable opinion of them in public more than once.
Replying to @Biyombonesaw
Now, both Mao and Stalin were incredibly powerful leaders. But that power was a result of their popularity both within the party and with the people. Their proclamations and published articles carried incredible influence and affected how the committees voted

The cricket vs baseball thing is so funny. Harry Brook hits a homer off the worlds best pitcher before the worlds best hitter survives 6 balls from Jofra Archer, Jasprit Bumrah or Mitchell Starc. Simple as that.

If the Braves resign Mahle for 2/$40m and give this deal to Morejon and either Clay Holmes or Trevor Rogers, would you be happy with the pitching staff? Payroll would have to go up to cover whatever you pay the 4th outfielder and presumably Dubon at SS.

The Dodgers would literally pay a cricket player a billion dollars to come dominate baseball. The fact that this debate is purely hypothetical tells you all you need to know

I submitted my buyout resignation to Microsoft today. They rejected it. Not because I’m so valuable. But because I don’t work at Microsoft.
BREAKING: Microsoft, $MSFT, is offering buyouts to 60,000 workers as part of the company’s efforts to cut costs amid AI adoption, per Bloomberg. Personnel on select teams in the US, Canada, India, and the UK at a vice president level and below will be eligible. This reflects ~27% of Microsoft's total workforce.

I still don’t understand how you can have a replay review on something that is 110% a judgement call with no clear rule to inform the review
This is how Yandy Diaz’s swing that ended WS Game 2 would’ve looked under the Automatic Check Swing challenge system they’ve been testing in the Minor Leagues. It wouldn’t have been ruled a swing 👀

This is the level of understanding the average leftist has of business: Corporations choose to overpay employees in order to hide their profits.

I’m saying that grocery stores that choose to pay their CEOs millions of dollars are choosing lower margins on purpose, as an example. Expand to any other choice businesses make

I hope this passes and the California billionaires pay their billions and California pisses the money away on 3 additional inches of high speed rail and Californians vote themselves 10% of all wealth in 2030
This is huge. A just-released SEC filing makes an extraordinary revelation: Mark Zuckerberg is getting ready to pay California’s 5% billionaire wealth tax and has signed an agreement to remain in California for 8 years. We are witnessing a global turning point unfold before our eyes. 🧵

This doesn't make any sense. Silver here is adamant that he aggressively vets pollsters and knew Wedgewood was fake. But he only removed Wedgewood from his database yesterday AFTER it admitted to being fake. Until yesterday, Wedgewood was highly weighted in Silver's model.
A few points about Wedgewood. 🧵 1. They're totally full of shit when they say there isn't any vetting going on. The NYT, whose polling feed we use at Silver Bulletin, extensively vets new pollsters. And FiftyPlusOne caught them. I've caught fake pollsters before, too.
