🇪🇺 The EU just passed Chat Control 1.0 in Brussels.
Platforms can now scan your private messages again, officially "voluntary," in practice blanket surveillance.
Here's the democratic scandal: 314 MEPs voted against it. Only 276 voted for it.
It passed anyway... because an absolute majority of all MEPs was required to reject it, not just a majority of those present.
More people voted no than yes. It still passed.
Pushed through on an urgent procedure just before summer recess, when absences are highest and attention is lowest.
This is how rights disappear folks. Not in one dramatic moment, but in procedural fine print, on a slow news day, while everyone's looking at Tehran.

🇸🇪 Swedish police confirmed the death of 32-year-old Swedish off-duty policeman Christian Zedig, who was allegedly murdered in an attack by a group of African migrants at a World Cup fan zone in Copenhagen.
The incident happened after Erling Haaland scored the winning goal for Norway vs Ivory Coast.
Police Chief Mathias Ljung: “Our colleague has passed away. We held a memorial this morning.
You’ll be holding several more if you don’t get your immigration crisis under control ASAP!

🇮🇹 A 32-year-old Colombian tourist was abducted near Rome's Termini Station by a migrant gang and held captive for 72 hours, gang raped by 5 men who drugged her and threatened to kill her.
She was lured by a man offering to sell her hashish, then forced into a van and taken to an abandoned building occupied by 22 illegal migrants on the outskirts of the capital.
She escaped and was found lying half-naked on a street nearby.
5 men were arrested: 2 Gambians, 1 Malian, and 2 Nigerians. At least 3 others remain under investigation. 11 of the 22 migrants found in the building were issued expulsion orders.
Europe should be having a very hard conversation about this.

Magdalena Andersson och Mikael Damberg räknar bara med de förslag som ger folk mer pengar och utelämnat allt som kostar.
De har inte tagit med att deras nya bolåneskatt ska betalas av alla med ett bolån, att deras fastighetsskatt drabbar den som äger sitt hem eller att de höjda drivmedelspriserna landar hos dig vid pumpen varje gång du tankar.
Finansdepartementet har räknat på hela politiken: I verkligheten innebär deras politik att minst 8 av 10 som arbetar får det sämre, inte bättre. För en vanlig familj med en polis och en sjuksköterska handlar det om skattehöjningar på minst 2 000 kronor i månaden.
Någon ska betala för Socialdemokraternas löften – den någon är du. Du som ställer klockan och går till jobbet varje dag, du som varje dag är beroende av bilen, du som bor i ett hus eller bostadsrätt.
