We all know climate anxiety isn't a disorder but a normal, rational reaction to a devastating threat
By extension, surely not being anxious about the threat is the mental health issue to be concerned about?
I worry about those who aren't worried
Synergistic effects of more solar absorption and less solar shading are really accelerating climate change due to less sea ice and less air pollutants from shipping. It’s getting hot in here!
☀️📈BREAKING @NASA CERES🌡️📈
Why was 2023 so extreme? The data is finally in!
The world absorbed a lot more sunlight, as less was reflected.
While greenhouse gases kept most of the additional heat in.
Add El Niño and all temperature records shattered!

The Seven Stages of climate denial:
1. It's not real
2. It's not us
3. It's not that bad
4. Do you want us to live in caves!
5. It's too expensive to fix
6. Here's a fake solution
7. It's too late: why didn't you tell us?

what billionaires and the very rich are doing in essence is stealing life force that was not meant for them from other humans, and other species, from the past, present, and future.

1. This is the only radiator in our house. We haven't turned it on yet, or used any other heating source. Yet we are always warm. Why? Because this house (which we rent) was built almost to passive house standards. Our bodies/cooking/appliances are sufficient to heat it. 🧵
In the name of what God is this justified? This is a war crime and these criminals need to be brought to justice.

We know why: it's because data and models all look backwards, at the way things have been. They're consistently failing to account for how an extra 10 zetajoules of heat per year are powering stronger + more dangerous storms that intensify faster. cbsnews.com/news/hurricane-o…

Listen up. Gaza is a blueprint for all of us this century. This is what the first real signal of this new century looks like, out in the open, clear for all to see.

Matthew Perry portrayed one of the most well-known characters of all time but also helped others. He used his celebrity status to lobby Congress for more drug court funding and opened a rehab centre at his former mansion. What a remarkable legacy to leave behind. #MatthewPerry

I want to leave Matthew Perry’s own words here as the way we remember him. There will never be another like him- he lit up so many hearts in so many ways. Godspeed to Paradise!

We need to stop regarding the climate emergency as a stand-alone environmental problem. Global heating, although ruinous, is not the sole symptom of our present struggling on Earth. See our climate emergency paper. Think overshoot. doi.org/10.1093/biosci/biab0…… cartoon- P. A.Jansen

Becoming Paris would mean taking an area like this and having pretty much ALL of it become 6-8 storey apartment blocks.
We have single detached houses with front and backyards within a 15-minute walk of King and Bay…

Ok, just for fun, three maps:
1) The outline of Paris, within the Périphérique, overlaid on central Toronto.
2) Toronto subway lines and stations within that area (including Crosstown).
3) Paris Métro lines (1-14) and stations within that same area.
We’ve known what was happening for more than my whole lifetime. I feel like there is a lot of talent being wasted on this planet just trying desperately to get the Titantic to stop or change course.

Australia’s Environment Minister siding with coal companies wins the right to ignore the climate impacts when approving new coal mines.

Here is fossil fuel companies' new defense in lawsuits accusing them of deceiving the public about climate change:
They perpetrated no deception, they say, because the "alleged impact of fossil fuel use on the global climate has been ‘open and obvious’ for decades."
