इन्हीं PSUs के दम पर कई काम हुए। PSUs की बदौलत ही डाकियों ने पोस्टकार्ड पहुंचाए, गांवों-कस्बों तक टेलीफोन और ट्रेनें पहुंचीं।
नेहरू जी के निधन के बाद लाल बहादुर शास्त्री जी ने देश की कमान संभाली और उन्होंने IDBI बैंक की स्थापना की।
IDBI की स्थापना का उद्देश्य था: छोटे-छोटे कारोबारियों को ऋण मिले, ताकि वे अच्छे से काम कर देश की तरक्की में योगदान दें।
