Save Our Nurseries video and comment on the closure of Basford Hall Campus Nursery - Why is there no nursery provision planned for the new City Hub Campus in 2021? change.org/p/save-nottingham… Save our Nurseries!

Nottingham College saying that Basford Hall Nursery was 95% full in Jan '18, but only 44% full in Aug '17. A bit like saying a school should close because it's running at 0% capacity every August. Quality, usage & finance all healthy in my view.

Why has the principal decided not to discuss the nursery closure with the Nottingham North community involved in the Save Basford Hall Nursery Campaign? How can he not consult the community and councillors who have invited him to discuss the issue?

Parents & the wider community are right to be disappointed that no representative of Nottm College was prepared to answer, or give reasons for their decision to close the nursery. Sadly it says something about the attitude at the top of the organisation.

Last Friday I asked for a copy of @NottmCollege’s Equality Impact Assessment relating to the decision to close the nursery. The CEO said he ‘didn’t have it to hand’ but promised to provide a copy.

The fact that none of @NottmCollege senior leaders would put their name to this nonsense statement says it all. They’ve given up even trying to defend this indefensible decision. nitter.gq/lindawoodings/status/1…
This article is not true @NottmCollege the nursery made a surplus. U only changed the accts AFTER the Save Campaign started. BTW Not all mums have found places for their children yet. @SaveBasfordhall News | Nottingham College nottinghamcollege.ac.uk/abou…

Dear Mr Van de Laarschot,
We are writing to you about the lack of communication by Nottingham College's principal regarding the intended closure of Basford Hall Campus Nursery @NottmCollege

No show by John Van De Laarshpt at the @SaveBasfordHall public meeting highlights the lack of accountability in Further Education 'the Board of @NottmCollege voted for closure but nobody voted for the Board'. @ANorrisMP @nick_raine @cllrsamwebster

Last Friday the College CEO claimed that none of the parents opposed the closure. Either out of touch or dishonest nitter.gq/cllrsamwebster/status/…
The most powerful contributions at last night's 'Save Basford Hall Nursery' meeting came from the mums of nursery children. There were no contributions from @NottmCollege because nobody attended to answer for an outrageous & nonsensical decision to close good provision.
