Don’t confuse border control with mutual Freedom of Movement which refers to live/work/study/retire rights.
And we desperately need those back.
Are you aware of EC2004/38 which would give the UK a lot of control if it chooses to implement it.

Brexit was the greatest act of economic self-harm in our country’s history.
I’ve calling on the government for closer ties with Europe to help businesses grow, lower costs and improve living standards.
Rejoining the EU must remain our destination.

Who made this? 👏

Took my sister for a drive through Brightwell-cum-Sotwell today,(just round the corner from where we live) & was delighted to see so many EU flags on houses. BTW in case anyone's forgotten it's where Boris Johnson lives.Looks like his neighbours are giving him a message.🇪🇺

And of course to ‘allow British citizens to work, rest and play in the EU’ - as well as avoiding the dreaded EES.
Fantastic!

Freedom of Movement to allow EU citizens to work, rest and play in Britain.
Filling jobs, paying taxes, learning English. Bringing their charm and warmth to Britain. Giving us diversity and different cultures.
It’ll be so good to have them back again.

Dear @EUdelegationUK & Amb
@jukka_salovaara,
Speaking as a fervent Rejoiner who spent 23 years in EU institutions, I’ve never seen an EU policy create such prolonged bad PR in the UK as the EES which @SimonCalder describes as ‘a game of frontier roulette’. It needs fixing, fast.
Working together for a stronger Europe in a safer world.
EU Ambassador @jukka_salovaara and Foreign Secretary @Ed_Miliband discussed the importance of the EU-UK partnership and strengthening our relations.

I don’t agree with getting to the airport 3 hours before.
If everyone does that, it makes the problem worse because you need an airport 50% bigger than one where people only have to get there 2 hours before.
And do we really want to have to get to an airport 3 hours before a 1.5 hour flight?
I don’t think so.
I travel a lot and really can be standing in long queues like this. That’s not exceptionalism. It’s about user experience and customer service.
It’s really time to challenge the level of border friction we want between countries in Europe. I think this friction is bad for all of us
(…and doesn’t even do anything to solve the ‘weaponised’ migration challenges that Europe as a whole faces).

No 'probably' about any of this. UK would be much better off in the single market, which by definition means reducing trade barriers and benefitting from free movement of people, goods, services, capital. The single market literally *is* EU rules - that's how it removes red tape.

Many congratulations and thank you for all the work you’ve done for people living full-year and part-year in Spain.

"The EU could easily remove all the checks for people from the UK" if the UK wholly reciprocates for the EU.
It is called reciprocal freedom of movement & being part of the same Common Travel Area, under *mutually recognised* legal oversight & authority; jurisdiction.
Here it is called Schengen.
Otherwise you get the unavoidable checks (as per all the borders between any two *different* - not *mutually recognised* - legal jurisdictions).
None of this would be an issue but for Brexit, so of course it is *all* Brexit's fault.
As for "boycott the place", how stupid can you be @rstk8?
Replying to @JeremyClarkson
Not Brexit’s fault. The EU could easily remove all the checks for people from the UK. If they can do it with illegals from Africa, they can do it for the UK. The UK should boycott the place. they wouldn’t be long changing their minds.

The EU has a message for governments: migration is no longer a choice, it's an economic necessity. 🇪🇺
Europe's population is ageing, birth rates are falling, and the workforce is shrinking. A new EU demographics report warns that without migration, the bloc will struggle to fill jobs, finance pensions and sustain economic growth. By 2038, people over 65 are expected to outnumber those aged 20–40, fundamentally reshaping Europe's labour market.

10 years after the UK voted to leave, 57% of Brits say it was wrong while 66% of EU citizens across 15 member states want the UK back.
The mistake of 2016 doesn't have to define the next decade. The UK's future is in our Union.

Sue Wilson @BremainInSpain speaking at the @MarchForRejoin in Parliament square #RejoinEU
"That fateful day 10 years ago when we woke up to the shock, pain, anger and heartbreak of the Brexit referendum. That day, forever seared into our brains, was compounded four years later, when Brexit became a reality"
"Despite all our efforts, the tourists preposterous scheme to save themselves from self destruction, together with the blatant lies and fake promises of Farage and company have sealed our fate for a decade"
"As a direct result of Brexit, we lost rights, benefits and opportunities that we had every right to expect were ours for life. A decade on, everything that we said was going to happen has come to pass"
"And then, so, our economy has been badly damaged, our, country has been divided and hatred and bigotry have been given a louder voice"
"You might think that the architects of Brexit would be celebrating, but no, they don't even try to defend their Brexit anymore, as it's clear it's a failed project, it's failed miserably"
"All they have left are, empty cries of betrayal and the usual lies about immigration. As for public support, that is dying off, literally"
"The last 10 years have seen dramatic changes around the world"
"Those challenges have made cooperation with our neighbours more important than ever and have made Brexit a talking point once more"
"Our politicians may not like the fact, but Brexit is finally a major topic of conversation and impossible to ignore"
"But while Brexit may now be up for discussion, honest open debate on the subject is still lacking, especially within government"
"Labour are still clinging to the ridiculous reset and rigid red lines preventing any meaningful progress"
"That's despite improved UK EU relations and the public opinion strongly in favour of rejoining the eu"
"We are left wanting for a leader, a party, a government with the backbone to speak the truth about Brexit, that rejoining the EU is inevitable and that process needs to start now."

Freedom of movement is the reddest of Keir Starmer's red lines for his #Brexit reset. Yet, only 18% of voters actually oppose FoM, according to this new @ObserverUK poll, and hardly any of those are Labour voters. (1/3)
