What happened in #Abyei is a tragedy and it should not be able allowed to repeat itself again. #SouthSudan #peace #SaveTheLastTrain
This is very DISTASTEFUL. What happened to sovereign and territorial integrity, and the protection of civilians and properties from both foreign and domestic enemies 🤔 How is 200+ people dying a normal issue? What happened to the sanctity of human life 🤔 😪. Are 🇸🇸s lives that cheap 🤔

Kenya provides more than 400 military and police officers to six @UNPeacekeeping missions around the world. They are #ServingForPeace at great personal risk and under harsh conditions to help others. We thank them for their service and sacrifice. un.org/en/peaceandsecurity/s…

The warring parties in #Sudan have nothing to lose. But the great people of Sudan have everything to lose. That is why they must talk with one voice, act collectively for peace, reconstruction of social fabric. They must unite for peace, work for the common good of all citizens.

The saddest thing is we seem not to have the slightest capacity to defend our territory from external aggression as seen in the case of Amiet market and parts of Renk which have been targeted by the Sudanese Armed forces using drones. That's tactical provocation of war or diplomatic spat.

FUNDAMENTAL FACTS. It is practically impossible to hold elections by 22nd December, 2026 but these elections can still be done unless —next year after meeting all factors including but not limited to time, finances, and civic liberties and freedom of other parties to campaign without unnecessary security approvals and clearances—they are our own internal SPLM party elections 😉. We at the SPLM will still win by a landslide but let the playing field be fair. At this rate many of our party members will cry real tears soon. They've spend their life savings on a process that will end in futility. Otherwise, let's push this thing to next year. – at Nairobi, Kenya

BREAKING: President Kiir signs 2026 amendments to Elections Act, paving way for December polls President Salva Kiir Mayardit has signed the National Elections Act, 2012 (Amendment) Act, 2026, following its passage by the National Legislature this evening, according to a reliable source. The signing clears another legal hurdle ahead of the December 22, 2026 general elections and brings the country closer to the transition from the current transitional government to the electoral period. Under the amended electoral framework, the national and state governments are expected to be dissolved three months before the scheduled elections. September 22 marks exactly three months to the December 22 polling date, meaning the dissolution is expected to take effect tomorrow. The amended law provides for the dissolution of the National Legislature, national government and state governments during the three-month pre-election period, while the President remains in office during the election period. The development sets the stage for caretaker administrations as South Sudan moves into the final three months before the scheduled elections.
