We welcome news of funding to get our Library open again, but questions still need to be answered, so our campaign won't be going away.
However we now have something to celebrate at our read-in on Saturday, please join us! fb.me/e/1cxj3cFS6
The cash will help reopen five Glasgow libraries currently closed - Maryhill, Whiteinch, GoMA, Couper Institute, and Barmulloch dailyrecord.co.uk/news/polit…

After the worst night since the first night home from the hospital, I’ve taken us to Maryhill Library. The refurbished floor is beautiful, I’ve got a bunch of new books, and I’ve got some peace. Libraries are a sanctuary, thanks @SaveMaryhill.

Isn’t she just magnificent! 🤌
I struggle to understand how anyone would want to see this brilliant place become a ruin. @SaveMaryhill have done our city a mighty service 📚

We welcome the announcement that Maryhill Library’s doors will open once again to the community from Monday 24th January.
We’ve campaigned tirelessly for this since last May when at the height of a pandemic it was attempted to make it that our library would never open again 1/2

Beyond relieved and pretty delighted that the hard work and grit of @SaveMaryhill campaigners has finally paid off but this cannot just be a quick fix or cover until just after the council elections. The fight for the future of our libraries must go on. glasgowlife.org.uk/libraries…

At last! Great result for the fantastic community library campaigns around Glasgow - determined not to let their libraries slip away quietly. Special shout out to the read-in read-out @SaveMaryhill group.
They will all reopen later this month 📚

Second read-in of 2022 this morning. Still no further forward on a date for reopening in January despite several promises from @glasgowlife and @GlasgowCC. Just not good enough!
