A tenant-led organization in NYC fighting to preserve Section 9 public housing in the US, the only deeply affordable housing option that remains.

I remember my first meeting with @laylaLawGisiko and raining 🔥 on her for not knowing enough about the proposed demolition of #publichousing and being weary because allies usually have an alterior motive BUT over 3 years LLG stayed. She learned. She showed up. She did.
The latest attacks against me have been vicious, baseless, and relentlessly personal. Plain lies, ad hominem smears, guilt by association, insinuations, invented motives. Every cheap trick in the political sewer.

A million #publichousing households in USA. @AOC still fighting for GND4PH yet @DemSocialists @nycDSA isn’t satisfied with supporting economic apartheid now they’re erasing us from existence 🤯
Section 9 is already functionally dead in American cities. No revenue, no development, etc. bringing back public housing is a federal and state initiative not a city one

New York City has hundreds of thousands of people login in public, Section 9 housing. It is not “functionally dead.” Groundwork’s campaign to tear down public housing and displace those residents is the OPPOSITE of socialism, and I urge everyone to vote for ZERO GW delegates.

“Most tenants agree with the plan.” A flat out lie from GW. FEC Tenants have never been allowed to take any kind of vote and the developer/the city have taken enormous action to prevent one. If most tenants support it, why the extensive lengths to suppress democracy?
Replying to @digifigs_1
Most tenants agree with the plan. Nobody is being displaced because most won't have to move during construction and those who do are being moved to other nycha units on the meantime and they all have a right to new lease with same income rules even if they have rent back pay

There’s also sexy new research on HOPE VI being discussed at National Public Housing Museum this month 😉
If you want to know what will happen to the residents of FEC after their public housing is demolished by Related Companies, look no further than what happened when the same was done in Chicago. If I’m being generous, the DSA right is being fooled by unenforceable promises.

PUBLIC housing must be funded by Section 9, and managed by a housing authority. Period. PACT is funded by project based section 8 and managed by private/ non profit companies. There should be a entrance quiz for anyone discussing the demolition of #publichousing 😂
Replying to @SaveSection9
i mean i didn't ask you that i can see you prefer section 9 to section 8 housing, i just think it's insane you're fighting against building an additional 1000 affordable public housing units

Why do so many DSA members subscribe to Reagan housing policy principles?!
you talk like Republican when it comes to housing. Like the private sector will do anything about climate change? It hasn't!

It's not true. It doesn't work. It's based on rightwing economics. Do your homework. More supply doesn't change things that much. It's weak tea. Recently in the New York Times: nytimes.com/2026/08/23/opini…

Who said renovation would cost 1B?! 🤔
You want nycha residents to continue living like this even though it would cost 1 billion dollars to renovate

Imagine asking ME a public housing tenant fighting against PACT; for comprehensive modernization since 2019 as a volunteer surviving on stipends and community donations IF I SUPPORT Section 9 💀😂🤮
do you? cuz to me it seems like you're opposed to the redevelopment of affordable public housing nyc.gov/assets/tenantprotect…

a socialist would simply keep Section 9 instead of spending time and energy to reform PACT. Socialists believe it's better to have public control rather than regulations which can be captured by the industry.

Setting aside the substance of these proposals, using government resources to run these ads isn’t appropriate. This kind of activity is one of the things I looking at Cuomo for doing during the Moreland Commission.
