The Government is determined to conceal the ever-rising cost of the Holocaust Memorial, currently £138.8m plus contingency. The document which revealed the contingency to be £51.8m has now been amended on the web to leave out that figure. #VictoriaTowerGardens

The Bill to build a Holocaust Memorial by Parliament is being introduced today. Of course (speaking as the son of a refugee from Nazi Germany) it should never be forgotten, but the £100 million (plus) would be better spent on education in schools nationwide than a London monument

This is an inaccurate headline that will only fuel community concerns.
The decision to cover the memorial was taken by park authorities, not the police.
As the paper’s own article makes clear, it is a precaution Royal Parks have taken for a number of different events.
