Fighting to protect all acute services in all of our local acute hospitals, and to protect the wider NHS from privatisation. RT not necessarily an endorsement.

Horrifying, but sadly entirely predictable, and was predicted. What else would you expect to happen when governments over last 30 years have more than halved the number of NHS beds, and are STILL planning to downgrade 2 major acute hospitals in SW London and massively cut beds?
BREAKING: The UK now has the highest covid death rate in the world. A horrifying, heart-breaking, appalling fact that shames our country & our Govt.

BREAKING: from the Royal London Hospital, this email from management👇 “We are now in disaster medicine mode. We are no longer providing high standard critical care, because we cannot” The content of this email is SHOCKING and I’m passing it to a trusted journalist right now🚨

The #NHS is only bit of the public sector where your dad gets to mark your home work. Professor Sir Norman Williams the anything but ‘independent’ chair of the Independent Reconfiguration Panel gets to approve plans to downgrade St Helier. No A&E, No Maternity , children’s or ITU

Somewhat confusingly, the details for tonight's online "Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee" meeting lists both Kingston Council's YouTube channel, and Merton Council's YouTube channels for where to watch the live stream of the meeting. youtube.com/c/kingstoncounci…

David Olney confirms that councils have the right to "call in" the dangerous proposal to downgrade our local major acute hospitals, ridiculously called "Improving Healthcare Together", i.e. Refer it back to the SoS for Health and Social Care. Merton Council have already done so.

...this begs the question, of why ANY affected local authority would NOT have already rejected this dangerous plan which would see the number of major acute hospitals in our area reduced, leaving fewer beds, fewer doctors, and longer journeys for most people.

...and @JeremyAmbache You might find some interesting data in our detailed analysis and report on the dangerous and reckless "IHT" proposals, here: koshh.org/koshh-iht-response

#Tory public health policy; in the middle of a #pandemic remove #A&E and crucial acute services from a major hospital. The madness compounded by the fact that #Carshalton & #Wallington MP @ElliotColburn supports the removal of these acute #NHS services from his constituency.

Plus just imagine you can only access A&E by GP referral or Ambulance, so do people dial 999 to get an Ambulance (Taxi) to A&E? The strain this strategy will place on the Ambulance Service will be immense!
There will be longer traveling times in an emergency for most, meaning fewer ambulances available, the ambulances will be queueing for longer as there are less staff, and facilities at the smaller unit. Local population increasing, healthcare capacity decreasing.
