Just a casual reminder that Germans who “didn’t bother to vote” in 1932 didn’t get a chance again until 1946, after Hitler’s death. — There’s a lesson there.

During “Earth Song” At the 1996 Brit Awards, Michael Jackson stopped the spectacle and spoke straight to the room.
He laid out the numbers — rainforest the size of six football fields burning every minute, children dying from hunger and neglect — then finished with quiet conviction: “ I believe in us as a people I know when can make difference.”
Another unfiltered moment from MJ that still cuts through.

Support the people you love while their dreams are still awkward. Anyone can clap at the finish line. Showing up for the clumsy early version is how people learn it’s safe to keep trying.

this rethoric of michael being a “drug addict” cause he couldn’t handle fame and all that bullshit needs to stop, michael handled a body that was fighting against him, lupus flare ups, constant lung inflammation, insomnia, a 3rd degree scalp burn that left him permantly IN PAIN
Madonna explains the real reason legends like Michael Jackson, Prince, and Jean-Michel Basquiat burned out.
“When you channel artistic ideas and you have creative visions, it’s magic. And when you overthink it or you start thinking about how much of that you own, you stop it. A lot of people have these meteoric careers and they rise up and take the world by storm… and then something happens and they can’t handle the light. In a way, they fly too close to the light and it burns them.
I would say that’s really true about many of my peers… whether that’s Prince or Michael Jackson or Jean-Michel Basquiat. These are people who were channeling, but I don’t think they understood that there has to be some kind of restriction. People like to take drugs because they’re actually channeling light… but it’s light with no restriction. And then that’s what kills you or burns you out.”

I meant what I said: Lula’s election will stop an unrestrained assault on Brazil’s forests. But people keep saying it will stop deforestation, and that’s wrong. The only way to stop deforestation is to stop eating the earth. If farms keep expanding, forests will keep falling.

the best way to understand what's wrong with capitalism is to read the headlines in the Wall Street Journal
Don’t use artificial cobweb material. If you already have, go out and take it down.
Halloween artificial cobweb material:
It may be a bit of fake fun for you, but it's a very real and terrifying death for them.
And it's not only birds.
Last year I had my first call of the season of a hedgehog trapped in this horrific fake 'cobweb', made especially for gullible halloweeners to spread over their greenery, trapping all unsuspecting birds, insects and mammals, including hedgehogs.
The fine synthetic fibers are difficult for animals to see and can quickly wrap around their legs, spines, and neck, leading to severe injuries.
When a hedgehog struggles to free herself the web tightens, cutting off circulation and causing deep wounds.
These constriction injuries often lead to permanent damage or death.
Unfortunately the call was from Manchester, so all I could do was talk them through getting the poor creature to a rescue.
Clearly she had been trapped there for at least one night, and her struggles had pulled the strong nylon strands so tightly that one of her toes had been amputated.
Can you imagine the pain and the sheer terror?
And then seeing dawn approach, while hanging there, tightly bound and helpless.
Aside from being stressed, dehydrated, starving and exhausted to the point of near death, she also had horrific bite/peck wounds to her face, where she had been held there, helpless, unable to curl and defend herself, while a predator tried to eat her alive.
If you have used this deadly cruel trap to 'decorate' your garden, please take it down now.
Please don't be conned by the greedy makers and sellers of this rubbish into hurting defenceless animals.

Elon Musk has put $442M+ into the midterms, more than any other donor. That's about 0.05% of his $935B fortune. For someone with $10,000 in savings, that's a $5 coffee.
VOTE while you still can.
He was also a single dad of three and had all the right in the world to slow down for a while to see his children grow up. A lot of that time was stolen from him because of false allegations and a ridiculous trial. None of this had anything to do with an artistic burn-out.

I feel like many have forgotten that the first S in SARS stands for “Severe.”
“Covid is mild now! It’s basically just a cold!” Right, right… and you think viruses only damage your body in ways you can feel immediately? 🤨 It’s a severe disease even if it doesn’t feel that way!
