Black y8 girl came to me during break, crying, with her natural hair shrunk by the rain. In under 15m & with the wrong tools I got the girl out with 2 rushed cornrows. Being black & that age, hair can mean so much. This is one of the many reasons we need more #Blackteachers #BHM

Today for #BlackHistoryMonthUK I salute Dame Jocelyn Barrow 🇹🇹 who was the FIRST Black woman in teacher training in Britain. She helped to pave the way for the 1965 Relations Act, which was the 1st piece of legislation in the UK to address racial discrimination. ✊🏾

I'd recommend everyone to watch Defiance right now. It's a Channel 4 documentary detailing the racism British Asian communities faced in the 70's/80s. The first episode looks at the rise of the far right and the death of an Asian boy in Southall youtube.com/watch?v=4JCO_Vz5…

You really finish university on a random Thursday, blink, and next thing you’re clocking 5 years as a working person.

One of my year 11s wrote Lady Macbeth whilst on the surface is presented as strong due to her emasculation of Macbeth in her pursuit of power, may also be deemed as weak as she has to rely on masculine strength to reach her own potential…
