Self-builders who are unable to access standard bank lending can now apply for a loan of up to £175,000 to help with the development costs of their home.

ALT Housing Secretary Shona Robison said: "This fund aims to unlock the dream of building your own home, in many cases allowing people to stay in their local communities. It has provided homes for people living across the whole of Scotland."
Today was the last day to apply to the #SelfBuildLoanFund, but it will re-open in autumn after @scotgov appoints a Fund administrator.
We're glad to see the Fund continue, supporting people who would otherwise not be able to build their own home!

📣 Important update on the Self Build Loan Fund
The current Fund will close to applications on 31 August 2022. It will, however, be extended for an additional five years and will reopen in autumn 2022 following @scotgov appointing a Fund administrator. 1/2
The Self Build Loan Fund will continue to offer short-term loans of up to £175K to assist with development costs relating to #selfbuild projects for people unable to access mainstream self-build finance.
