It was a pleasure to be back in East Palestine today where Fran and I joined local community leaders, @SenJonHusted, @LtGovJimTressel, @PresBillJohnson, and others to announce the next phase of plans for a new regional first responder training center in East Palestine. Once built, this new center will draw people from all over the country to East Palestine, strengthening not only the public safety workforce but also the economy of this resilient community. bit.ly/4ysfdgl

ICYMI: Traveled to Ohio this week to tour @centrus_energy’s American Centrifuge Plant alongside @SenJonHusted. Beyond impressed by the work being done at this state-of-the-art facility and grateful for the opportunity to see how federal investments are benefiting critical energy projects.   Through our work @EPWGOP, Senator Husted and I remain committed to advancing affordable, reliable energy and creating good paying jobs for the American people.

Great to join @SenJonHusted at @centrus_energy’s American Centrifuge Plant in Piketon, Ohio today to see how federal investments in nuclear energy are transforming Ohio’s energy landscape.   Through our roles on @EPWGOP, we have worked hard to reduce regulatory burdens and permitting inefficiencies to deploy clean, reliable nuclear energy in Ohio and across the country.

Yesterday, Senate Democrats blocked @SenJonHusted's Ratepayer Protection Act which passed in the House 417-3. I am disappointed that Chuck Schumer chose to ignore this measure’s overwhelming bipartisan support and play politics instead of working to make life more affordable for hardworking Americans.

The Ratepayer Protection Act passed the full House 417-3. Nearly every House Democrat supported it. Yet Senate Democrats voted NO, because they didn't want to hand Republicans a win, even when it would have been a win for the American people. It's shameful. cowboystatedaily.com/2026/09…

I spoke one-on-one with Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio) after his Ratepayer Protection Act failed to advance in the Senate. I asked him whether he wishes the bill included stronger enforcement mechanisms, which is the reason many Democrats said they opposed it. “They don't actually have a bill that does that that has any support,” he told me. “It's the only bill that could have been passed and signed by the president before we all returned home, and they blocked it. The bill is consistent with a long line of tradition. The federal government doesn't run the grid. The states run the grid. So we set the standards that the state must approve to lower electricity costs.”

I supported @SenJonHusted’s Ratepayer Protection Act to protect Arkansans from higher costs associated with data centers.   Democrats blocked it because they’d rather vote against Republicans than lower costs for Americans.

Today, Democrats are blocking @SenJonHusted’s Ratepayer Protection Act, which passed the House 417-3 and would help keep the cost of powering massive data centers off the electric bills of American families. We already have these protections in Oklahoma, and it should be commonsense to have these protections nationwide.

Democrats just blocked @SenJonHusted’s Ratepayer Protection Act. Instead of fostering responsible, thoughtful innovation, @SenateDems would rather play politics with Americans’ lives and pocketbooks.

Senate Democrats blocked the Ratepayer Protection Act after it overwhelmingly passed the House 417-3! North Dakota, which has the cheapest electricity rates in the country, has enshrined these principles into law. We produce abundant, reliable energy and make sure users pay for the costs they incur. Under Democrat leadership, residential electricity prices soared 25%. More states need to be like North Dakota. This bill would’ve facilitated it, but Senate Democrats said no.

There is overwhelming bipartisan support for making sure working families are not stuck with the bill for a large company’s electricity use. Yet Senate Democrats voted against it. Republicans, led by @SenJonHusted, supported ratepayer relief and Senate Democrats stood in the way. The American people won't forget it.

Every Senate Democrat just voted AGAINST photo ID. This is the 7th time this year. @SenatorRicketts and @SenJonHusted's bill made it easier to vote and harder to cheat. Apparently, Democrats just want to cheat.

.@SenJonHusted's Ratepayer Protection Act passed the House 417-3. That's overwhelming support. Yet, Democrats in the Senate stand in the way of relief. Tomorrow, Democrats can join Republicans and help lower costs or they can explain why they're standing in the way of relief.

Housing First failed Americans by warehousing the vulnerable without results. Housing is essential, but housing alone is not enough. HUD’s Treatment First approach gives youth the care they need to live independently.

🚨BIG NEWS: My Ratepayer Protection Act is headed for a vote in the Senate next week! 🚨 Americans deserve protection from costs caused by data centers. I’m proud to have introduced this bipartisan legislation and grateful to @SenJonHusted for fighting to get it to the Senate floor. The House passed it 417–3. Now let’s get it through the Senate and onto the President’s desk! 🇺🇸

.@SecretaryTurner and @SenJonHusted are in Ohio to tout the Trump Administration’s push away from Housing First to Treatment First when caring for our homeless neighbors. By treating underlying causes, we will not just warehouse our homeless neighbors, we will give them a path to self-sufficiency.
Today, I toured Huckleberry House’s Transitional Living Program in Columbus with @SenJonHusted. The program offers both housing and counseling services for vulnerable youth — not simply warehousing the issue. This is a recipe for independence — not government dependence.

Recently, the House passed the Ratepayer Protection Act. It would protect Nebraskans from having to foot the bill for data centers. I cosponsored this bill in the Senate. It’s terrible that Senate Democrats blocked its passage. When it comes to data centers, state and local communities should be in the driver’s seat to make the decisions that are best for their families and businesses. Americans deserve transparency about data centers in their communities. ricketts.senate.gov/news/pre…
