Even JerryRigEverything is telling Apple to APOLOGIZE to users now. The company says only SOME units are defective?? I think the real number is many times higher. Zack, iFixit and CuriousHagi all point to the hinge area in the middle of the phone, exactly where the damage is concentrated. No excuses left !! 🔥 BRING LONG-TERM SCREEN WARRANTY HERE NOW.

🚨HOT: Foxconn employee accuses Apple of lowering quality so the iPhone Duo can ship in time | The hinge maker threatens to sue anyone spreading false information! (There are 2 separate pieces of news in this post, so don’t get confused) This new detail comes from leaked supplier information reported by the Jingwei channel of China News Service. An engineer working on the iPhone Duo assembly line told the outlet that because of pressure in production, Apple lowered certain quality inspection and yield standards to keep supply going, which means defective screens are more likely to reach the market. According to the same source, Apple took emergency action: a batch of materials on the production line was replaced, actual output wasn’t affected and the plan to produce about 7.5 million units this year hasn’t changed. On Weibo, the leak stirred up an old debate about Apple’s manufacturing in China Many joked that Huaqiangbei’s famous repair ecosystem in Shenzhen could soon produce an iPhone Duo with better quality than the official product. A tech blogger who studies supply chains came out criticizing Apple: Buyers are paying for Apple’s quality control. Apple raced against time, it wanted a foldable iPhone early so it decided that some defective units were the price to pay for getting this “first time”. __________ That’s not all, because the cause of the iPhone Duo’s screen damage is leaning toward the hinge, so the hinge maker, South Korea’s Fine M-Tec, is taking losses. Fine M-Tec’s stock fell sharply by 15.7% in yesterday’s trading session. In response, Fine M-Tec posted an official statement affirming that the components it supplies are unrelated to the quality problems being reported. Fine M-Tec said: “A defect on a finished product can’t be pinned on a specific component without technical evidence and objective verification”. The company also declared it may consider civil and criminal legal measures against parties who spread unverified information or claim, without basis, that its components are the cause of the defects.

🔥 The Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra & Galaxy S27 Pro could be the first phones to have next-gen “monster” specs: - LPDDR6 RAM, UFS 5.1 storage, Snapdragon 8 Extreme Elite Gen 6 (2nm) or Exynos 2700 (2nm). - Just hearing it, you can already feel the speed. New RAM, new storage, new 2nm chip... next year’s S27 is truly a hardware revolution. - If Samsung gets the Exynos 2700 on par with the Snapdragon, Exynos fans can finally hold their heads high this year!

🔥 THE NANO TEXTURE SCREENS ON THE IPAD PRO AND THE IPHONE DUO AREN’T THE SAME - On the iPad it’s the whole glass surface, still gets lamp glare, anti-glare isn’t as strong as the iPhone Duo’s, but the screen is clearer and more 3D-looking. It’s like those anti-fingerprint tempered glass protectors. - The stronger the anti-glare, the more you trade off in viewing angles and black levels. - And some guy in China peeled off the Duo’s film entirely and underneath was a regular glossy glass screen, so later when it needs replacing, customers with active AppleCare only have to pay $19.99 to swap in a new film. In short, the Duo’s nano texture screen is a film, not whole glass like the iPad Pro, guys 👍

🔥 Portrait of the person behind the super smooth unfolding effect on the iPhone Duo and a whole bunch of iOS’s top animations Chan Karunamuni, a Human Interface Designer at Apple, recently shared that he’s one of the people who took part in designing the transition effect between the iPhone Duo’s outer screen and inner screen. If you often follow changes to the iOS interface, you’ve probably used lots of products with his mark on them without even knowing. Chan has worked at Apple for about 15 years, taking part in developing many standout interface experiences: 👉 iPhone X (2017): Took part in designing the gesture navigation system, including swiping up from the bottom edge to go home and switch apps, replacing the physical Home button. 👉 Dynamic Island (2022): One of the key designers behind the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 14 Pro, turning the screen cutout into an interactive area with flexible stretching and shrinking effects. 👉 AirDrop and NameDrop (iOS 17): Designed the ripple effect when two iPhones are brought close together to share data. 👉 iOS 18 flashlight (2024): Took part in designing the intuitive flashlight adjustment interface, letting you change the width and intensity of the beam. 👉 Liquid Glass (2025): Took part in the team designing Apple’s new interface language, with transparency, light refraction and fluid motion effects. What’s interesting is that these experiences all share one thing: turning seemingly very simple actions into natural, smooth movements with a physical feel. - Apple has plenty of talented engineers and designers, but Chan Karunamuni is definitely one of the notable names behind the interface details that make the iPhone stand out.

🚨The iPhone Duo’s super smooth fold-and-unfold effect suddenly loses its “magic” in this country - One of the most praised details on the iPhone Duo is the extremely smooth transition between the outer screen and inner screen, giving the feeling that content expands naturally with the folding motion. - However, a user just found that when switching the iPhone Duo to a language with a right-to-left (RTL) interface like Arabic, this effect changes too. - As a result, the interface’s motion no longer feels as seamless and natural as the English version, somewhat losing the “magic” Apple worked so hard to design.

Have to admit, Apple’s build quality has gone downhill a lot 🙄 Apple now sells products mostly on its reputation and brand from the past, but honestly speaking, their products have run out of creativity. People buy Apple for the ecosystem. Apple probably won’t collapse anytime soon like BlackBerry or Nokia did back in the day, but gradually withering is for sure. Maybe this is also a chance for a second Steve Jobs to rise up and grow. and what’s your opinion ?? 👇

🚨 HOTTEST RIGHT NOW: iPhone Duo suddenly gets streaks on its screen during a durability test livestream by Kuba Klawiter In a recent live by famous Polish tech channel Kuba Klawiter, the iPhone Duo went through a continuous fold-and-unfold test. The device suddenly “went down” after 75,000 fold-and-unfold actions, a number said to be noticeably lower than the 400,000+ for Samsung’s foldables under the same continuous folding conditions.

GPT-6.1 SOL keeps stalling, and the work depending on it stalls too. That’s the uncomfortable part of making AI a daily coding tool. When it stops working, you find out how much of your workflow is waiting on it. Hard to get excited about AI productivity while staring at a task that won’t finish. The deadline, unfortunately, is still fully operational.

Is this the part that’s causing the iPhone Duo’s screen to break, show streaks and be unable to fold ⁉️ Recently, Max Weinbach shared a case of a friend of his who had a serious problem with the iPhone Duo: the folding screen cracked, streaks appeared and the hinge could no longer fold. Notably, leaker L0vetodream shared a photo of a small metal part inside the hinge area, raising suspicion that this could be the cause. 👉 This part is described as a travel-limiting steel plate, which protects the display cable underneath and also provides a support point so the screen doesn’t sink in. 👉 According to L0vetodream’s hypothesis, the steel plate may have gotten stuck during folding and unfolding, failed to return to the right position and popped up, putting pressure on the screen from underneath. 👉 This could explain the cracked screen, streaks and jammed folding mechanism all at once. Of course, this is only a hypothesis from the community, with no evidence confirming that this metal part actually caused the problem, and it’s also unclear whether this is a design flaw, an assembly error or an isolated case. But if the hypothesis is correct, the iPhone Duo’s problem may not lie in the durability of the OLED panel, but in the very mechanical structure designed to protect it.

🚨 IFIXIT TEARS DOWN THE IPHONE DUO: FINDS A POSSIBLE CAUSE OF SCREEN DAMAGE FROM IMPACT FROM THE INSIDE Now that iFixit has finished tearing down the iPhone Duo, with a 3D hinge model and CT scans included, let’s see what they found. Heads up, iFixit hasn’t confirmed the cause, but they’ve narrowed it down pretty clearly. 👉 A foldable is two halves of a phone, so a cable has to run through the hinge - Before getting to where it cracks, let me explain the design a bit, since this is what you guys keep asking about. - A foldable like the iPhone Duo is basically two halves of a body connected by a hinge, and each half has its own components. - According to iFixit, one battery sits under the back glass and the other sits under the outer screen, so one in each half. - But Apple only put the charging on one side, so the battery on the other side has to be charged through the cable connecting the two halves. - That cable also has to carry a lot of video and audio data across the hinge gap. Simply put, without this cable the two halves can’t work together. - For the cable to pass through, the hinge has to leave a gap in the middle, and the cable is folded like an accordion so it can stretch and contract every time you fold and unfold the phone. - That gap is exactly where the structure supporting the screen changes: above it is the empty gap for the cable, below it is the hinge’s central support bar. And the inner screen sits right on top of all of this, thin and made of many layers, so wherever the support underneath changes, that spot is easy to get stressed. The accordion-folded cable passes through the gap in the middle of the hinge, carrying both data and power 👇
