This has been probably the darkest 24 hours I’ve ever experienced on social media in my life. The things being said about Samuel, his wife, and his small children are unthinkably evil. To be frank, Hitler’s Christianity is a subject about which I’m fairly ambivalent; But ultimately I don’t see the salvific relevance of any given World Leader from a century ago. You couldn’t give a damn whether Churchill or Roosevelt were Christians (and there is comparatively much more and better evidence that they weren’t).
So obviously what you actually care about isn’t his salvation, it’s his politics. But you want to brand anyone with any kind of Nationalist Politics as therefore Hitlerian and by consequence nonChristian.
