Someone asked me why I try to ruffle so many feathers when I’m doing my job. Staff and I are just telling the truth about how your $ is spent (and we document & prove everything). If the truth ruffles feathers, so be it. Maybe MS was overdue for some feather ruffling.

UPDATE FOR TAXPAYERS: My office has now diverted tax revenue from some cities to force them to be audited. Here's the full story: My team is banned, by law, from auditing cities. Cities are instead supposed to be audited by private CPA firms. But we do have the power, if a city refuses to be audited, to divert tax revenue from a city and force them to be audited. Some auditors have been hesitant to do this in the past. Sometimes it makes some local political power players mad. But someone has to stand up for taxpayers. Taxpayers deserve to have an audit of how their municipality spends taxpayer money. Without an audit, cities often cannot take out a loan or seek a federal grant. Here are the cities where we've seized revenue: Grenada Canton Holly Springs Indianola Maben Tchula Columbus Clarksdale Senatobia Louisville Winona Okolona

JACKSON, Miss. – Today, State Auditor Shad White announced the State Auditor’s Office will start diverting funds from several municipalities that are behind on their audits. The funds will be used to pay for outstanding or delinquent audits. “While our office does not have the legal authority to actually audit cities using our staff, we do have authority to divert municipalities’ tax revenue to force them to be audited,” said @ShadWhite. “For taxpayers in those municipalities, they deserve to know how their money is spent. Someone must stand up for taxpayers.” Municipalities with outstanding or delinquent audits are often not eligible for grants, cannot borrow money, and citizens are unable to know how their tax dollars are spent. The State Auditor’s Office has already diverted taxes for Grenada, Canton, Holly Springs, Indianola, Maben, and Tchula. The new municipalities to have their taxes diverted are: · Columbus · Clarksdale · Senatobia · Louisville · Winona · Okolona Suspected fraud can be reported to the Auditor’s office at any time by clicking the red button at osa.ms.gov or calling 1-800-321-1275 during normal business hours.

Nick Shirley and I both understand: really fighting fraud—not just talking about it—comes at a cost. But America is worth the cost.

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Matthew 22:36-39 God bless you today!

When I was deployed this year I left my truck at home. I jokingly told my 7yo daughter when I left “don’t forget to crank my truck every Sunday,” and she was so concerned about it she wrote a note reminding an adult to crank it 😂 Just found the note. That’s how you know she’s a daddy’s girl right there!

Breaking news on the fight against DEI: For years bills to ban DEI at our universities died in the state senate. Then, in 2025, a bill banning DEI finally passed after we all stood up and put enough pressure on them. Unfortunately, right after that, a liberal federal judge put a stop to the law being enforced. But he made a mistake. He apparently used AI to help write his opinion. The AI even hallucinated and created a fake case and some other things that the opinion cited to. Yesterday, an appeals court struck down that judge's opinion and criticized the AI hallucination. The appeals court ordered that the case should be sent to a new judge for a decision. I'll continue to keep you posted on the fight against DEI brainwashing.

This morning The New York Times covered the lonely fight to redistrict Bennie Thompson out of office and called me "a hard-line conservative" leading the fight. Nicest thing they've ever said about me!

Kamala Harris is in Mississippi today to campaign for Scott Colom. President Trump is coming to Mississippi on Monday to campaign for Sen. Hyde-Smith. It’s a bold strategy for Colom, Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off for em.
