Too be clear, I don't think this is significant enough to call, and very hard to see in real time. The point is the people who over analyze today's game hate when you do it to older eras
Lakers were up 30 when he was taken out of the game in the 3rd btw
The difference between being a casual and someone who understands basketball is asking them their opinion on Luka
Luka will always get to his 32/8/8. But does that make him the best in the league? There’s a difference between getting your stats and playing winning basketball. Luka is an overall winning player, but has losing tendencies. Does he grab a lot of rebounds? Yes. Are they almost never offensive/contested rebounds? Yes. Does he end up with great efficiency? Yes. Is a lot of it from shots that he can’t consistently rely on like 3 balls and foul baited free throws? Yes.
And when you actually break down his playmaking, it’s not as good as it seems. He is easily a top 2-3 passer in the league with Jokic and Hali, but he has a tendency to play every possession the way he always has rather than do what’s best in that specific situation. He loves icing out his teammates in the first, he loves throwing lobs rather than prioritizing early shot clock ball movement. He’s also been consistently surrounded by elite offensive talent, similar to Jokic, which helps his assist numbers. Shai doesn’t have that.
He’s also just an extremely turnover prone player. He’s often throwing risky passes or getting picked because of lazy plays. He’s tired because he’s targeted so much on defense and running so many offensive plays that it’s hard to not be lazy.
Bro was in foul trouble cause he kept fouling cause he couldn't guard Luka, trying to rewrite history like it didn't happen last night
