To come on the road and go back home safely must never be taken for granted. Merciful Fada, from the road surface conditions, to the blatant disregard for rules of the road, to the nonchalant driving abilities...Fada grant us mercy!!
Who responsible for this area? @NWA_JA @ksamcorp @NestaJA Whomever is responsible, do something!
We are so tiiiirrrred!! Just the THOUGHT of coming on the road stresses us out!
So yeah, that big chasam that's forming by the bridge that connects Red Hills Rd and Boulevard.... @NWA_JA, ya'll see this?? Ppl who need to turn to merge on to the Blvd have to be going way down as if they're going straight & then turn left to avoid dropping into that mess

Law enforcement officers assigned to the St Ann Traffic Department are investigating a three-vehicle collision that claimed the lives of three boys and a 17-year-old girl along Dacosta Drive, Ocho Rios, in the parish on Saturday, October 31.
The deceased are:
•17-year-old Shantana Leonard of Cardiff Hall, Runaway Bay, St Ann.
•16-year-old Kenneil Lyle of Mansfield Heights, Ocho Rios, St Ann.
•16-year-old Marcodine Maxwell, of Mansfield Heights, Ocho Rios, St Ann.
•15-year-old Rajani Abdul of Mansfield Heights, Ocho Rios, St Ann.
Reports from the St Ann’s Bay Police are that at about 2:30 a.m., two black C43 Mercedes-Benz motorcars were travelling in a westerly direction. It is reported that one of the vehicles attempted to overtake the other, causing it to veer into the path of a Toyota Vitz motorcar travelling in the opposite direction. Shantana drove the Toyota Vitz, with Kenneil, Marcodine, and Rajani as passengers.
The overtaking Mercedes-Benz allegedly collided with the left side of the Toyota Vitz, forcing it into the right lane, where it collided with the other Mercedes-Benz. It is reported that the drivers of both Mercedes-Benz vehicles removed the licence plates and fled the scene.
The police were alerted, and the occupants of the Toyota Vitz were assisted to the hospital, where all four succumbed to their injuries.
The police are appealing to anyone with information that can help identify the drivers of the Mercedes-Benz motorcars, or with any other information, to contact the St Ann’s Bay Police at 876-872-7523, the police emergency number 119, or the nearest police station.

Everyone talks about the London 2012 Olympics; meanwhile, this woman still remembers London 1948.
Carmen Phipps 🇯🇲 is a former Jamaican high jumper and one of the last surviving members from the first summer Olympics post World War II.
Her first success came at the 1946 CAC Games, winning a gold medal in the high jump. From there, she firmly established herself as one of the dominant athletes regionally.
At the 1948 Olympics, Phipps entered in five events (100m, 200m, 4x100m, high jump, and long jump) but decided to only contest her specialty event to save energy.
The journey and athlete arrangements in London were different 78 years ago. The Jamaican contingent travelled via a banana boat on a 24-day voyage across the Atlantic Ocean, and because there was no formal Olympic village, the likes of Phipps stayed as guests with local British families who volunteered to take them in.
Using the common scissors technique at the time, Phipps cleared 1.50m to finish 11th out of 19 starters.
She went on to secure a silver medal at the next CAC Games in 1950 before retiring from athletics.
In 1953, she married teammate and Olympic champion Les Laing and remained married for 67 years until his death in 2021.
As of October 2026, 99-year-old Carmen Phipps lives peacefully in Florida with memories only a few people can say they’ve had. ❤️

Üzerinde babamın el yazısıyla eski şifre ve altında şu not vardı:
“Pazar günü saat 18.00’de bağlantı kesilirse hiç çekinmeden bize gelin. Bu saat eşinizin en kıymetli saati.”
Şaşkınlıkla ne demek istediğini sordum.
“Eşim doğuştan işitme engelli. Tek kızımız yedi yıl önce evlendi ve yurt dışına yerleşti. Her pazar saat altıda görüntülü konuşurlar. Kızımızla işaret diliyle konuşabildiği tek zaman bu. Eşim bütün hafta o saati bekler.”
Meğer komşumuz maddi sıkıntılar yüzünden internet aboneliğini iptal etmek zorunda kalmış. Babam bunu öğrenince kendi internetini kullanmalarını söylemiş.
Komşum anlatmaya devam etti:
“Her ay para vermek istedim ama kabul etmedi. Hatta internet bizim evde de çeksin diye kendi parasıyla sinyal güçlendirici aldı. Modemin yerini bile birkaç kez değiştirdi.”
O an yıllardır anlam veremediğim bir şey aklıma geldi.
Her pazar saat altıda babam bana interneti kullanmayı bırakmamı söylerdi.
“Baba, neden? İnternet bizim internetimiz!”
O da hep aynı cevabı verirdi:
“Bir saat kızım, sadece bir saat. Altıdan yediye kadar.”
Ben bunu tuhaf bir alışkanlık sanıyordum.
Meğer babamın korumaya çalıştığı şey, başka bir ailenin en kıymetli saatiymiş.
Mi cuss nuff time but listening to the PM reminds me there are so many moving parts to rebuilding, stronger. Mercy!
