She had gone quiet
with the thunderless hush
that follows
when a soul walks out
of its own house
leaving the door swinging
in the wind
mourning had taken her
proper mourning
the kind with bone in it
the kind that snatches
tidy words and explanations
leaving only the hollow
where the gods used to kneel
and eat fire
she lay with her back
to the cracked belly
of the world
eyes full of sky
she could no longer read
and somewhere deep inside
the pitch-black drift of her
she let out a sound
it could have been a scream
or a prayer
but it didn’t contain a word
just the ache-shaped murmur
of a girl who still
somehow
hoped
and the stars
leaned in like grandmothers
who’d heard that sound before
in another time
another forest
another war
and they sent word
through the ink dark corridors
of saltwater and wonder
the whales heard it
the old great drifting ones
who left the oceans
before language had bones
they came
spiraling down the silver threads
between worlds
their bodies carved
from moon-rind and midnight
their eyes like lanterns lit
with the breath of sleeping gods
when grief calls
without ornament
the whales will come
always
always
one sang her a lullaby
to remind her
that stars die too
and even they are reborn
one brought a miracle
the slow green kind
like moss on stone
another laid grandeur
at her feet
the simple astonishment
and strange wild knowledge
that she had survived
the last whale
the one barnacled in constellations
older than the moon
whispered poetry
words beyond worlds
that turned her mourning
into a myth
that other girls might find
when life
forgets their names
she wept
remembering
she had a voice
she had a name
that somewhere
in the ragged canopy
of her grief
was a throne of stars
with her footprints on it
and as the whales turned back
toward their celestial ocean
she stood
watching the sky
heart split open
just wide enough
to let the world back in.

🪐🔥 FIVE PLANETS IN RETROGRADE: THE GREAT INNER AWAKENING 🔥
There's something fascinating happening in the skies right now. Five planets are in retrograde simultaneously, and when you look at what each one represents spiritually, there's a powerful message woven through all of them.
In astrology, retrogrades are associated with reflection, revisiting the past, and recognizing what needs to change. And I can't help but see how closely these themes mirror what so many of us have been experiencing in our own lives.
Neptune went retrograde July 7 and remains there until December 12. Spiritually, Neptune represents intuition, dreams, and the illusions we live within. This is a time to question what we've accepted as truth and learn the difference between genuine inner knowing and the stories we've been conditioned to believe.
Saturn followed on July 26 and continues until December 10. Saturn brings lessons around responsibility, boundaries, and accountability. It's about recognizing the patterns we keep repeating and finally finding the courage to break them. You cannot build a new life while continuing to live by the rules of the old one.
Uranus turned retrograde September 10 and remains there until February 8, 2027. This is the planet astrologers associate with awakening, freedom, and sudden shifts in consciousness. It symbolizes breaking free from outdated beliefs and remembering that we were never meant to live our entire lives inside someone else's definition of reality.
Venus joined on October 3 and continues until November 13. This one goes straight to the heart. Relationships, self-worth, forgiveness, and the way we give and receive love. Old wounds may resurface, not necessarily to reopen the pain, but to help us recognize what still needs healing.
And today, October 24, Mercury begins its retrograde until November 13. Mercury represents communication, thought, and understanding. With Mercury in Scorpio, the spiritual symbolism goes even deeper. It's about looking beneath the surface, having conversations we've avoided, and becoming more honest with ourselves.
And here's another interesting piece. Pluto, the planet astrologers associate with transformation and rebirth, just turned direct on October 15.
Think about the symbolism of all this.
Our beliefs are being questioned. Our relationships are being examined. Our old patterns are coming into focus. Our understanding of ourselves is evolving. And transformation is asking to become something we actually live, rather than something we simply talk about.
I don't believe we need to fear these cycles or surrender our power to planetary movements. But I do believe the heavens have always offered humanity a beautiful way to reflect on the cycles of life.
Maybe this is an opportunity to stop searching outside ourselves for every answer and begin listening to what our hearts have been trying to tell us.
Because awakening isn't just about discovering what's wrong with the world. Eventually, it becomes about recognizing what still needs healing within ourselves.
And perhaps that's the greatest message of this season.
We aren't moving backward. We're being invited to return to the parts of ourselves we forgot along the way.
