BANDLENG IS CALLING. Botswana imports 100% of its IV fluids (drips). The import bill has to reaches highs of BWP805.2 million, the demand is estimated at BWP1.5 billion. Bayton Medipharm, is setting up a Botswana’s 1st IV manufacturing plant in Lobatse to meet this demand.

Did you know that Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) is available as both an oral pill and as an injection for preventing HIV? Through U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (U.S. CDC) in Botswana and other partners, the Government of Botswana has introduced a long-acting injectable (CAB-LA), which is conveniently taken once every two months for HIV prevention.
