Here it is! Say hello to KONDOR! #ch53K for HMH464 Condors. Buno 170350.
This project had a few challenges mainly translating an Al created design by the sad into paint on the aircraft. But between Dave @s3_viking_nfo and Ray @ray_mendicino we got it on there. I couldn't have done this without Dave and the team of Marines who helped every day.
Not gonna lie there were some doubtful higher ups at first that weren't sure we could pull it off on this multi million dollar awesome helicopter but never fear! 10 days later and voila!
A big thank you to the wonderful hospitality at the squadron for letting us tag your bird. Can't wait to see it fly!
So here's to the first K model color bird, my first K model and by far the ugliest bird I've ever painted.❤️😂
we did it Dave!
Fly high and forever KONDOR! Go Marines! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
For new followers we donate our time to paint mil aircraft.
So here's the tail! 😂 yea a boring shot for ya. Honestly we are getting closer to being done and we can't wait. The 🍀 has been associated with the Condors since day one.
This job will be in my top 5 of hardest in terms of design complexity and size. And you'll see why when it's done. The weather has been weird, and of course we are still not 100% feeling great.
This is one of those projects where | start to question my sanity as to why I said yes 😖 but I'm sure it will turn out great in the end.
Dave and the Marines helping have all worked our butts off. So stay tuned just a couple more days!! CH-53K at MCAS New River.
We are still working on the beast. Though we both caught some cold bug that about knocked our socks off. I got it first (seriously I haven’t been sick in years) coughed so much my ribs hurt. Then Dave got it . We’ve both had to take a sick day to stay horizontal.
Never fear even with that and a temp drop to 45 here 😳 we are pushing through. Had to run to Walmart for sweat shirts and hoodies.
Here’s the tail with the tail code and clover masked out. CH-53K
That’s one BFT 🇺🇸🇺🇸
After 3½ days of prep, we started putting some color on the new K model today!
Of course we can't/won't share any spoilers, but here's a few shots of New River and their awesome 'Aviation Memorial. Who doesn't love a good aviation museum, and this one has a CH-34, CH-53A (yep Alpha), UH-1N, AH-1J, CH-46E, and a very early MV-22.
Only issue I’m having is the day after we got here I came down with a cold 😡 I have not been sick in years. Coughed all night. Another night for NyQuil, airborne, cough drops etc. yuck!
Stay tuned for updates! This one is going to be awesome. Photos by Dave Nenna
You know I can't show what the design is,, but look at these great Marines helping out!!
And hey what better day to be working on a 53 then it's 62nd anniversary of its first flight!!
This big bird is a big job and it takes a whole team!
Just getting started! @s3_viking_nfo @ray_mendicino #ch53k #merica
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️🤍💙
Here she is! This big beautiful beast CH-53K and brand new! Not even a bug on the windshield yet. She will def be something to show off when we’re done. Here at MCAS New River SC.
NEXT ON DECK!!! Woo hoo
HMH-464 Condors CH-53K! That's right a brand new K model massive beast Marine heavy lift!! And the cool part-I'm not solo this time! Because of the complex design Dave @s3_viking_nfo is also going to help out on this job!
Headed to MCAS New River in NC tomorrow. We fly from different airports and will meet up there.
The design was selected by the pilots of the sqd and let me tell you it will be a head turner.
I dread the long day though, 3 planes and it will take all day. Coast to coast, getting up at 3am is hard on these bones 😂😂
So stay tuned!!!

Happy Birthday to my husband Scott, my biggest supporter in what I do! ❤️❤️🎂🍻@ScottDonnell13
My Diablo has finally made it back to San Diego after 13 months in Japan. Not my photo, but it is my paint job 😬VFMA-232 Red Devils
It’s really hard to sum up the Miramar airshow in just a few photos, but here are a few.
Dave and I had a great conversation with Maj General Brodie Commander of the 3rd Aircraft Wing. He was super nice and loved what we do! The flying was great, the people were awesome and I'm so thankful for the VIP tickets we had. Such a great day! Semper Fi! 🐙🐙🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️🤍💙❤️🤍💙

Ok here she is!’
Say hello to LIBERTY! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
KC-135R 63-7992 from the 186th ARW here at Key Field ANG base in Meridian MS.
This plane was actually scheduled in March but Epic Fury needed her. So finally now in September she has her beautiful tail! Fresh out of depot she'll fly like this for about 5 years.
The Key Bros logo is famous here, as the brothers invented the fuel transfer valve still used today in the aerial refueling system.
The top of the tail has the Mississippi seal meaning "By Valor and Arms." And the flag? Well AMERICA!!
It was great being here (except the humidity) and the guys that helped me were awesome! Moving stands, driving the highlift, hauling AC ducts for air, prepping, masking and taping. Most of the time it was Cody and I in the highlift.
All the templates for the logos I made at home and brought with me. And I convinced them to let me paint the stencil on the nose in 3 colors.
I was here 15 days, Took us 12 days to paint with 3 days off. It was a blast!
Thanks to all those in the command here for the hospitality and giving me the honor to paint your awesome Jet!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks Cody, Cody, Jase and William we made a great team!

Yes I am still in Mississippi painting the tanker and I'll be done on Tuesday.
For now how bout a flashback to 1987-88 me painting a couple nose arts at KI Sawyer AFB MI.
Shack Rabbit and Stratofortress Rex. Back before I learned to airbrush it was all paint brush. #b52 #usaf #ilovetopaint I cannot even believe that was 39 years ago!
Devilfish! ... Finally caught in the air by my friend and fellow painter Dave Nenna!
... It flew yesterday, the first time since Dave and I painted in back in May. A huge Bravo Zulu to the maintainers of VMFA-323 Death Rattlers, they had a TON of gripes to correct as the aircraft had been in preservation status for over a year. But they got it flying, and just in time for the Miramar Air Show next week (hopefully!!).
It is assigned to VMFA-323 ongoing but will keep this paint scheme. MALS-11 is the Logistics Support squadron for 3rd MAW fixed wing squadrons.
It was pretty awesome seeing it in the air for the first time to 17 SEP 2026
