TRUMP ANNOUNCES DEAL WITH PUTIN FOR RUSSIAN DIESEL SUPPLIES
President Trump says he held a “highly successful” discussion with Vladimir Putin, securing an agreement for Russia to supply diesel to U.S. and global markets.
According to Trump, Russia will deliver over 300,000 tons immediately, followed by 500,000 tons in November and another 1 million tons thereafter.
The announcement comes amid tight global diesel supplies and elevated fuel prices.
Filling up the F-250 Crew Cab in Salinas (Cali, in general) now costs over $400.

US DATA: RECORD CELL PHONE PRICE JUMP BOOSTS CORE CPI
August inflation data carried a hawkish signal as wireless phone service prices surged 5.9% — the largest increase on record.
The jump alone added around 0.08 percentage points to core CPI and will also feed into core PCE.
Housing inflation was softer than expected, but its lower weighting in PCE means the underlying picture could still keep pressure on the Fed.
CPI dragged lower by an 8.5% DROP in medical insurance cost, a 5.1% DROP in motor vehicle insurance, and a whopping 12.2% reduction in Smartphone cost.
