Excited to share our editorial, published today in The Lancet Healthy Longevity , alongside the SAGA/SITE trial.
The trial looked at whether adults 75 and older taking statins for primary prevention could safely stop them.
In our editorial, we discuss why these findings should expand patient choice, not create a new default of routine statin discontinuation. Decisions about continuing or stopping statins in older adults should remain individualized, reflecting cardiovascular risk, overall health, medication burden, and patient preferences.

🚨The Islamic Republic just sentenced Erfan Shokourzadeh, a talented aerospace master's student, to death by hanging. He’s been moved to Qezelhesar Prison for execution.
This is pure barbarism.
Share this before they kill him.

Mr. @SecMullinDHS, as you step into your new position I ask you to provide particular consideration to the status of Iranian students and professionals in the United States who may be at risk of immigration complications due to Presidential Proclamations 10949 and 10998. Many of these individuals fled the Islamic Republic’s because they believe in freedom, democracy, and the values this country stands for. They are also contributing to the United States every day.
They arrived in this country legally, followed the rules, respect this country and its system of law and order and are among the most dedicated and accomplished contributors to American society. I ask that you and your department consider these factors, plus the personal and political risk many of these young people would face if sent back to the criminal regime in Iran.
America’s concerns for its national security and the threat posed by the Islamic regime to the homeland are entirely justified. To that end, my office stands ready to provide you and your colleagues with regime operatives, propaganda agents, and influence networks for investigation and removal from the United States.
Thank you for your consideration.

Dear Elon,
In these critical days, the people of Iran need internet access. Please help them stay connected as they struggle to reclaim their country from the rule of the mullahs. Stand with the Iranian people. Iran will not forget its friends. – at McNair, VA

Iranian immigrants have long contributed to the U.S. economy, especially in STEM, medicine and AI. Most strongly oppose the Islamic regime and support the goal of a strong and secure USA under President Trump and your leadership.
Over the past few months, many have faced serious hardship due to the USCIS hold. They are here legally and often hold advanced degrees. Returning them to Iran would place them in danger and risk sending highly trained experts in strategic fields back to the Iranian regime.
We would greatly appreciate it if you could revisit this decision.
Thank you for your consideration.
12 people have been hanged, today only.
Islamic regime's is killing people.
We need help!

Omid Azimi was 26 years old.
He worked as a barber in Tehran. An only child, he lived with and cared for his ill mother.
On January 10, the regime in Iran killed him.
Omid is one of thousands of young, innocent Iranians slaughtered by the regime for wanting freedom and daring to live a life without the Islamic Republic.
Don’t forget him.

Listen to the wails of these mothers.
It is unbearable to imagine tens of thousands of mothers crying and mourning for their children.
Mothers who only wished a normal, peaceful life for their sons and daughters.
Mothers who dreamed of seeing them grow, fall in love, get married, and live happily —and who are now left with nothing but grief, silence, and endless waiting.

Three Days Among the Dead: A Harrowing Account of a Protester Saved from Kahrizak
Exclusive: According to an account received by the Iran Human Rights Documentation Center, during the nationwide protests a family spent three days searching for their son, who had left home to protest and never returned. In anguish and uncertainty, the family first searched hospitals, then went to Behesht Zahra, and ultimately found themselves at Kahrizak—a place whose shocking images of large numbers of protesters’ bodies circulated widely on social media and in the press.
At #Kahrizak, the family was forced to search among a mass of bodies for their child, where hope and terror were intertwined. In the end, against all fears, they found their son alive. He had been severely wounded by gunfire and, according to this account, had remained without water or food for three days, lying motionless inside a plastic body bag used for the dead, out of fear of a fatal “finishing shot” by security forces.
According to this report, the family ultimately succeeded in transferring him to a hospital for medical treatment.
This account, while deeply distressing, captures a rare moment of survival amid death. At the same time, it offers a stark picture of the conditions surrounding the crackdown on protests, the treatment of the wounded, and the pressures placed on families seeking access to care—families left wandering between hospitals, morgues, and security facilities in search of their loved ones.
It should be noted that, due to severe internet restrictions and shutdowns in Iran, independent verification of this account is not currently possible.
