Say you request to exit your sUSDfr position today, November 1. November 22 is the earliest your request becomes eligible for settlement. It isn’t a guaranteed withdrawal date. That distinction matters. When you submit an sUSDfr redemption request, your shares enter FRV’s redemption queue. The request cannot be cancelled. The first 21 days are a mandatory holding period. Once that period ends, your request becomes eligible for settlement, but payment still depends on available liquidity. FRV processes eligible requests on a first-in, first-out basis. If other requests are ahead of yours, they must be processed first. And because the underlying capital finances real-world loans, not every dollar is sitting idle waiting to be withdrawn. There’s another important detail. The amount of USDfr you receive is calculated using the applicable share value when your request actually settles, not when you originally submitted it. Once your request fills, you can claim your USDfr. From there, eligible verified holders can redeem USDfr for USDC through the protocol, while the Uniswap market provides another route at the prevailing market price. This is an important distinction between earning yield from real-world credit and holding an immediately redeemable cash equivalent. Interest can accrue continuously. Liquidity follows a different timeline. Understanding both is part of understanding your position.

You’re choosing between PT-sUSDfr and YT-sUSDfr on Pendle. Both reference the same underlying position, but do both earn FRV points? No. PT represents the principal claim at maturity. Under FRV’s published points accounting, PT holders earn zero FRV points. YT represents the yield entitlement until expiry. FRV credits Pendle points to YT holders, LPs, and direct SY holders. But buying YT purely for points introduces another risk. You’re paying for future yield and rewards that may not materialize as expected. YT expires, and sUSDfr’s underlying returns remain variable and exposed to credit losses. PT offers a different exposure, but its principal claim isn’t protection against underlying credit risk. Before choosing, ask yourself: Are you buying principal exposure, future yield, or points? Those are three different considerations.

What powers sUSDfr’s yield? Interest from FRV’s underlying loans, after fees, accrues to the staked portion of USDfr. The rate varies with loan performance and how much USDfr is staked. Accrued interest also differs from cash already received. Follow the flow in 23 seconds.

Your $USDC earns interest because someone else is borrowing it. In our @Morpho market, that borrower posts sUSDfr as collateral. Their borrowing interest pays the lender. Holding sUSDfr gives you a different return, tied to the credit book.

A lending protocol's risk management becomes most important when a borrower fails to repay. At Forest Road Vault, that risk is addressed through a structured loss protection system. Here's how it works. Imagine a lending facility experiences a $100,000 loss after collateral recovery. That loss doesn't automatically translate into a $100,000 reduction in depositor principal. FRV's protection structure is designed to absorb losses in a specific order. First comes the curator's first-loss capital. For the receivables portfolio previously disclosed at $5 million, FRV established a $500,000 first-loss commitment, equivalent to 10% of the portfolio. This capital is positioned to absorb qualifying losses before they reach the subsequent protection layers. If losses exceed the available first-loss coverage, the next layer is the staked backstop. Only after the applicable protection layers have been exhausted would remaining losses reach depositor principal. Why does this matter? Because lending risk cannot be eliminated simply by requiring collateral or selecting borrowers carefully. Even well-underwritten loans can experience defaults, delayed repayments, or unexpected recovery shortfalls. The important question is how those losses are allocated when they occur. FRV's approach is designed to place dedicated risk capital ahead of depositors. But it's equally important to understand that first-loss protection isn't insurance against every possible scenario. Coverage depends on the applicable facility, available reserves, and the terms governing each protection layer. The objective isn't to pretend credit risk doesn't exist. It's to structure that risk transparently, establish who absorbs losses first, and give depositors a clearer understanding of their exposure. That's what responsible credit infrastructure should aim to deliver.

You hold 10,000 USDfr and want to maximize your FRV points. Should you stake it? Not necessarily. Forest Road Vault rewards two different forms of participation. Holding USDfr earns a 3× points multiplier, increasing to 6× over 365 days. But USDfr itself earns no loan yield. Staking into sUSDfr starts at a 1× points multiplier, increasing to 2× over the same period. In exchange, your position participates in the loan book's net performance. That performance is variable. Interest accrues as loans earn it, while fees and credit losses can reduce your returns. So staking isn't automatically the better decision. If your priority is points, holding USDfr carries a higher multiplier. If your priority is earning from the loan book, sUSDfr provides that exposure, alongside its risks and redemption constraints. And remember, points are participation accounting, not guaranteed future rewards. The decision is what you want your capital to earn, and which risks you're willing to accept.

The USDC/sUSDfr market is live on @Morpho. Lend USDC, or use sUSDfr as collateral to borrow it. Rates are variable, and lending is separate from staking. Explore the market before taking a position.

Your sUSDfr position has gained value, but the borrower hasn't made a payment. Where did that return come from? In Forest Road Vault, loan interest is recognized as it accrues, not only when cash arrives. That includes payment-in-kind (PIK) interest, which is added to the borrower's outstanding principal at scheduled capitalization dates rather than paid immediately in cash. This creates an important distinction: Your sUSDfr exchange rate can increase even when FRV hasn't received additional USDC. When the borrower eventually pays interest already recognized, that payment doesn't generate the same yield twice. It converts an existing claim into cash. For holders, this matters because recognized income and available liquidity are not the same thing. Accrued interest still carries collection risk. If a borrower defaults and losses exceed the protection layers, sUSDfr holders can be affected. Before evaluating your returns, ask: how much income has been earned, and how much has actually been collected?

Moving USDfr between wallets can change your points trajectory, even when the number of tokens you hold stays exactly the same. Here’s something worth understanding about Forest Road Vault’s on-chain points system. Points aren’t calculated based on trading volume or how many wallets you control. They accrue every block based on your balance, holding time, and position multiplier. For USDfr, that multiplier starts at 3× and increases gradually to 6× over 365 days. The longer your capital remains in the same wallet, the further its maturity multiplier progresses. Now imagine you’ve held USDfr for several months and decide to transfer everything to a different wallet. You still own the same amount of USDfr, but the receiving wallet starts a new maturity ramp from day zero. That means your transferred balance begins earning points at the base 3× multiplier again, rather than continuing from its previous maturity level. Splitting your holdings across multiple wallets doesn’t increase your total points either. The system is linear, so dividing the same balance offers no mathematical advantage. Adding fresh capital to an existing position works differently. The maturity adjustment is proportional to the amount added, rather than resetting the entire position. The takeaway is simple. Before moving USDfr between wallets, consider how that decision affects your future points accrual. The system rewards capital commitment over time, not unnecessary movement. Points are a participation measure, not yield or a guaranteed future token allocation.

A loan can be fully collateralized when it's issued and still become riskier without the borrower taking out another dollar. That's why collateral monitoring matters. At Forest Road Vault, the digital-assets lending facility uses specific loan-to-value (LTV) thresholds to manage this exposure. Here's how the structure works. At origination, the facility operates with a 50% LTV threshold. In simple terms, a $500,000 loan would require $1 million in eligible collateral at that ratio. Now imagine the collateral's market value falls to $800,000 while the outstanding loan remains $500,000. The LTV rises to 62.5%. Nothing changed about the loan balance. The collateral simply became less valuable. FRV's facility has a 65% margin-call threshold. When that threshold is reached, the borrower may be required to provide additional collateral or reduce the outstanding debt, according to the facility's terms. The liquidation threshold sits at 80%. This creates a structured approach to monitoring collateral deterioration rather than waiting until the collateral is worth less than the outstanding loan. But these thresholds don't eliminate risk. Sharp market movements, execution delays, and insufficient market liquidity can still affect the amount recovered during liquidation. That's an important distinction. Collateralization provides a mechanism for managing credit exposure. It doesn't guarantee that every loan will be repaid in full. For FRV depositors, understanding these thresholds helps explain how the protocol approaches risk in its digital-asset lending operations. The objective is to identify deteriorating collateral coverage early and establish clear intervention points before losses become more severe.
