I first heard "Joy In Repetition" ('86 version) on a bootleg audio tape around 1987/88. It completely blew my mind at the time. Why they hell did he not release this gem?

Cat Glover has passed away. 💔
One of the most memorable members of any of his 80s bands. #Lovesexy is one of my favorite #Prince albums.
We all love Cats raps during her time + her part in the SOTT/Lovesexy Band.
We Wish U Heaven, #CatGlover. 🕊️🙏🏾

Why did Prince make 'Purple Rain' into a movie?
Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' video had a lot to do with it, Prince's friend and drummer Bobby Z. tells Rolling Stone in a new interview. rollingstone.com/music/music…

On this day in 1984, Prince released "When Doves Cry," the lead single from his sixth studio album, Purple Rain.
The track became Prince’s first #1 hit, spending 21 weeks on the Billboard Top 100 charts, 5 of those at #1. One of Prince's most recognizable songs, bass is notably absent from "When Doves Cry," which was a last minute production choice.
