One more amazing thing about Brazil and Lula's campaign:
The NYT today has a gushing profile of a Congressman named @AndreJanonesMG, who became the face of Lula's campaign, its chief communication strategist. and -- as a result of admittedly innovative though extremely creepy digital strategies -- the greatest hero of the Brazilian left. But listen to what the article doesn't mention:
Just 2 years ago -- not 20 years ago or 10 years ago, but 2 years ago -- Janones got caught committing one of the most despicable crimes imaginable: he forced his Congressional staff employees to transfer a portion of their (quite low) monthly public salary to him as a condition for keeping their jobs. The money he stole from his workers didn't go to his campaign: it just went to enrich himself, into his pocket,.
He got caught when the employees secretly taped him angrily telling them they should stop complaining. When all this emerged, the left-wing members of Congress loyal to Lula -- who, remember, claims to lead a movement of workers! The name of Lula's party is the Workers Party -- protected him from all consequences from stealing the salary of his workers.
The pro-Lula judiciary let Janones confess guilt and simply pay back the money that he stole. And yet this doesn't bother anyone on the Brazilian left. Janones has become a beloved figure overnight among left-wing celebrities and is now one of Lula's closest allies. The NYT profile doesn't even mention this in their gushing profile.
In the scheme of Brazil's authoritarianism, it's not the biggest issue, but to me it's one of the most revealing about what frauds these people are:

After Trump won in November 2024, the Senate confirmed 22 more Biden judges, many foreign born in the lame duck. Senate Republicans cut a deal and let 21 of them through.
The result: 72% of the major lawsuits against this administration landed with Democrat-appointed judges, because the left files in the courts that suit them. D.C. alone has had more than 100 of them.
Judge Boasberg tried to stop the deportation flights. Activist judges have ignored our election and overrode the President on immigration, on foreign aid, on his own staff.
The House has the power of the purse. Use it. Impeach. Defund. Rein them in. Congress created these courts, and Congress can limit them. 🇺🇸
And Chief Justice Roberts, who is friends with Boasberg and put him on the FISA court, still hasn't done enough to rein in the lower courts.
We ourselves in America are witnessing a judicial coup in America. 🚨

Several videos posted on social media compile accounts from voters pointing to possible irregularities during the second round of elections in different states.
Among the complaints, there are people who claim to have arrived at the polling station and discovered that someone had already voted in their place.
Other voters report problems typing the number 22 on the electronic voting machine, stating that the image displayed did not correspond to their choice or that the key was not working.
There are also reports of instructions to cast blank votes.

The Lula Regime has it all locked down.
The same criminal lawyer who defended Daniel Vorcaro the central figure in the Banco Master scandal is now being lined up to run the Ministry of Justice starting in 2027. He left the defense right after the STF kept Vorcaro locked up, citing “personal reasons.” Now he’s one of the names Lula is considering for the top job in Justice.
It wasn’t for lack of warning.
