In 2024 the two external motion cameras (placed on just 2 ledges of Kittiwakery ANS) generated 4236 motion detections of which 2966 i.e. 70% of videos contained kittiwake - examples posted here: youtube.com/@ShoneyWind_Kitt…
So in 2025 we chose wide angle internal cameras ...
(6) so weve gone from 2024 video 'overload' to 'video scarcity' in 2025. We paired up with #APEM to develop AI based detection and analysis using the 2024 data, but the 2025 data is insufficient to move forward. See here: linkedin.com/feed/update/urn…
(7) so we have more reliance on manual surveys undertaken by @BiodiverseC and Martin Kitching in 2025 than cameras. So in the next month or so I need to decide what survey effort looks like in 2026.. (bites nails)

First, we have been over-run with corvids in 2025 inc jackdaws, carrion crows and magpies..

Completely avoidable. Taught the risks at university 35 yr ago, and it wasnt 'new' info then.... I had faith that humankind would take decisive action.. i played my part working in renewables... demoralised doesnt cover it...
