今大会はチケットやら交通やら運営やら演出やら、そしてルールまでも全てがアメリカ式になりすぎていた。良い面もあるが行きすぎていた面も否めない。 六川則夫は「今大会からフットボールはサッカーになったんだ」と喝破した。 FIFAはおそらく財政面を考えてもチケットのダイナミックプライシングを次回大会以降も続けていくだろう。 CMが入れられるクォーター制も続けていくだろう。 5秒ルール、10秒ルール、いかにもバスケットボールっぽいこのルールも続けていくだろう。 しかしながらイングランド対クロアチア戦で、両チームの選手とサポーター、彼らが見せたフットボールへの揺り戻しは、すべてのサッカーファンにフットボールの魅力を思い出させた。 ハイドレーションタイムには両チームのサポーターからブーイングが起きた。 試合後はHEY JUDEを歌い、WANDERWALLを歌い、そしてIT'S COMING HOMEを歌った。WANDERWALLはクロアチアサポーターでも歌っている人がいた笑 今大会ほどIT'S COMING HOMEの歌が意味を持つ大会はないだろう。 今こそフットボールがサッカーを経由して帰るべき場所に帰るタイミングなのではないだろうか。 今大会のイングランド優勝の未来が見える素晴らしい1日だった！私の中にも「フットボールおかえりなさい！」という感謝が溢れた。
