Gavin Newsom does whatever he believes will advance his political career, but I will give credit to Clemency California, Amnesty International, and the dozens of other organizations and organizers that fought so hard to make this happen.

It’s time for ICE to take the masks off, turn the body cameras on, and start answering to the American people who pay for their bloated budget.

i know we’re all having fun and not to be the friend that’s too woke but all the jokes about enforcing blue hair and new pronouns etc are hitting a little off when like 4 states just passed bills that are gonna make life for trans kids even worse for no reason. and by big margins

Hillary's dedication to never being right about anything ever is honestly impressive.

Babies don’t have power. They can’t speak. They can’t voice discomfort (w clear words). They can’t enforce boundaries. They are at the mercy of the will of adults. The fracture happens when they start developing the ability to express a desire for autonomy.
Everyone I know loves their baby so much and almost everyone I know has an at least somewhat fractious relationship with their parents. Seems important to figure out what goes wrong between babyhood and adulthood.

Found a bunch of photos from when I was hired to photograph Skid Row and they got mad because they wanted depressing photos but I made everyone look cool and nice.

Suicide is the stupidest thing ever. Why would you permanently end your life over a temporary problem?

The quicker we forget the pandemic the quicker we forget how easy it was for governments to ban evictions, forbid creditors from chasing debtors, find the homeless homes, provide a universal basic income and more. All the things we are told are impossible

Since @KyleKulinski follows me, I can explain why this isn’t astroturfed or some fringe faction of sectarian leftists. I know the people who led those chants. They’re Arab and Muslim youth who understand the difference between personal culpability and political responsibility. We’ve used these same chants against previous mayors. Eric Adams wasn’t personally sending bombs to Israel either, but he oversaw the NYPD, which maintains ties to the Israeli military and an office in Tel Aviv. Unless Mamdani has severed those ties, the underlying criticism remains valid. I might not have used that particular chant myself, only because I know how quickly bad-faith actors, liberals included, will seize on the wording to distract from the substance. But I’m not going to condemn people for using it, or pretend their criticism is any less legitimate. There’s always a problem with Palestinian chants. “Globalize the Intifada,” “From the river to the sea,” “Long live the resistance.” No matter what we say, the conversation gets redirected from what we’re protesting to how we’re protesting it. Stop joining the chorus policing Palestinian speech and start engaging with the actual policies and demands.
Kyle Kulinski on Zohran Mamdani getting protested at an October 7th vigil: “They said: Mayor Mamdani, you can’t hide, we charge you with genocide. This is a psyop. This is fucking astroturfed. This is either right-wing infiltrators trying to divide and conquer the left or this is like literal CIA. There is no way this is organic because nobody is that dense, nobody is that stupid to take one of the single most pro-Palestine elected officials in this fucking country and act like he’s guilty, he’s pro-genocide. You must be out of your fucking mind if you believe that”

We call on the mayor to: 1. Shut down all illegal sales of stolen Palestinian land in New York City 2. Use every means available to him to prevent military cargo shipments to Israel from JFK airport 3. Dismantle NYPD's Strategic Response Group and fire Jessica

they’re running the same play on the free palestine movement that they ran on BLM. liberals infiltrate these movements, shout down the radical aspects of them and water down the demands into nothing. in a few years they’ll be talking about how “man free palestine was crazy 🤪”

Everyone with a Palestine flag in their bio turning into a liberal zionist because they cannot let go of Mamdani. He did his job as a Trojan horse to pull the casually pro Palestine crowd back to centrism.

Zohran Mamdani might prove to be one of the single most dangerous political figures since Barack Obama. The way that he's sucked so much of the US "left" straight back into the status quo of the democratic party (while re-normalizing zionism) is so sad to watch play out

Really disappointed in the amount of mutuals I've had to unfollow for reposting straight up ableist propaganda about chronically ill people wanting to be sick :/ no, watching someone online who's ill can't make you more sick. You're falling for propaganda

i do think it’s funny that in order to rationalize the massive increase in newly disabled/chronically ill people many are resorting to 1800s style hysteria accusations bc the other explanation, that covid is disabling millions, would collapse the narratives they’re clinging to
