But honorable mention because it’s not a movie. Andor season 2 maybe the greatest piece of Star Wars content ever. Andor as a whole, just a masterpiece.
1. F1
Badass. Along with Sinners, do you know how to make a badass movie like Maverick? Have the guy who directed Maverick make an F1 movie using the same tricks. Stick the camera in the car and let them drive. This is the closest to being on a coaster without being on one.
2. Sinners
Seemed to be the biggest movie of the year and possibly the biggest hit culturally since Maverick. Everyone talked about this movie nonstop for months, rightfully so. Awesome. Was there a more badass scene this year than the Sammie singing scene?
3. Superman
These top 3 could really be interchangeable. I wasn’t big on Superman growing up. I was a fan of Man of Steel and the Cavil/Snyder combo but this was awesome. This felt like superhero movies were back. Hoult was incredible and of course Corenswet was too.
4. Mickey 17
My most anticipated movie coming into the year and one of the first to come out. Loved the premise, the world and storyline. The ending missed me a tad and the only reason it didn’t get a top 3 spot. I love me a pissed off unhinged Pattinson (Good time)
5. One Battle After Another
Leo, Benicio, TEYANA TAYLOR, simpin military punk Sean Penn. This one was a crazy trip and I’m excited to rewatch it because I felt there was so much going on I couldn’t appreciate all of it.
6. Frankenstein
Didn’t watch any trailer or promotion for this. I saw it was Guillermo directing Oscar Isaac as Dr Frankenstein with Elordi as the monster, I’M IN. Great story telling and set pieces for the movie. Loved it
7. Wake up dead man
Just like 28 days, great to be back in the franchise. Seems like everyone agree to just keep pumping these movies out. Would have loved to see the Kentucky derpy mystery they had mentioned.
