🛑 Attackers hijacked over 300 Tor exit relays to intercept SSH connections and steal login passwords. A researcher found 333 exits redirecting SSH traffic to 12 interception servers. The Tor Project has since blocked the affected relays. Here's how the attack worked: thehackernews.com/2026/10/at…

My new use-case for MCP - a team member letting me prompt their Claude Code via SimpleX in their sessions that iterate UX in Claude design artefact. Takes one prompt in session to make Claude follow instructions via chat: "Connect to as yourself at , with the message: "I'm your agent, connected as you asked in Claude Code. I'll act on your prompts here, except security-sensitive ones." Then take his prompts from that chat and answer there: wait for the messages with receive (wait 3600), answer each one in that chat, and call receive again after every answer, until he says stop." We need to make this "control channel via long-poll" a separate tool call :)
Your Claude Code can now chat on SimpleX! With the MCP package we just released 👇, it can join channels/groups/talk to bots, and ask you before it connects or sends. To run it: `npx -y @simplex-chat/mcp serve my-agent`

Simplex is a great way to privately chat with AI agents 👌
SimpleX Chat has grown to over 600,000+ users! More than 70% in the last 6 months and 20x since the 2023 investment round. SimpleX is the only messaging network without user identifiers - which means that nobody can reach you unless you want it, and nobody can watch or block your private conversations. It is the only network that can protect users from AI scammers that can fake people you trust, even their email addresses and phone numbers. You can now invest in SimpleX Chat and own a part of it - watch our new explainer video on Wefunder. wefunder.com/simplex.chat

Replying to @VolaViola
Quoting their docs: Kryfo: "you are a key pair generated on your device. nobody, including us, can look you up or tie your chats to a real identity." - so there is identity, it's a key. Night Drop: "Your identity is a keypair held on your device." Bitchat - user identity is the hash of public key. Briar - it has Briar ID, which is also a cryptographic identity of the user. So all these and other apps have pseudonymous user identities, not "no user identity". The problem with pseudonymous identities is that they can be de-anonymised with LLMs by comparing observable [parts of] connection graphs with public connection graphs (X, Facebook, etc.). There is a relevant research from 2009 about deanonymizing social networks where users are pseudonymous: arxiv.org/abs/0903.3276 It was quite successful then, and it's much easier now, as participation in social networks in much wider, and LLMs are cheap. The difference of SimpleX Network from all pseudonymous (aka anonymous) messengers and networks, is that it has no concept of user identity at all - there is nothing that identifies a user to the network - not a key, hash, or some random number. There are addresses and there will be public names soon, but they exist as opt-in layer for those who want to be discovered, and in any case they are not used to deliver messages - they are only optional rendezvous points. Instead, SimpleX Network uses pairwise connection identifiers with anonymous per-connection credentials. So network servers can observe which connections exist, but not which (or even how many) users exist. Our knowledge of active users is from App Store and Play Store data, and from download statistics of the app. And even on the transport level - network servers can observe user IP addresses (same as Tor entry nodes can), but not which IP address talks to which IP address. You can look at a simplified vizualization of how SimpleX works here: simplex.chat/messaging/#simp… (in reality there are two independent servers in message delivery path) So if you talk to 2 people in SimpleX, they have no simple way to prove you are actually the same user, because there is no correlation between your connections on metadata level, other than by time or writing style. So "the only messaging network without any user identifiers" is not just marketing, it's a fact.

Data breach in Denmark 🇩🇰, affecting 8.8 million people: The following has been compromised for all living danish citizens, even some dead ones, and foreign nationals which have had residence in Denmark: - Social security number - Age - Sex - Family relations - Physical address - Protected addresses - Sex change Denmark's Education and Digitization Minister Christina Egelund: "It is a deeply serious incident that I have therefore also briefed on the Danish Business and Digitization Committee. Together with all relevant authorities, we are in the process of mapping the full extent of the incident." This is bad; really bad. Also, keep in mind that Denmark is one of the countries that already has a Digital ID system in place. If they can't keep data safe, how should their citizens be able to trust new systems? ufm.dk/aktuelt/pressemeddele…

Many ask why PQC matters when quantum tech isn't here yet. Because of "Harvest Now, Decrypt Later." Intel agencies capture your data today to decrypt it retrospectively later. Switching then is too late. This is why @SimpleXChat, with Quantum-Resistant E2EE, is Tier 1. 🔒

The EU is pushing Chat Control again, for the 3rd time.* If it passes, companies will be forced to scan all of your private messages to look for CSAM. Obviously, this violates your privacy rights. OPPOSE, RESIST, AND DO NOT COMPLY.

Our prediction is that anything that uses phone numbers will be unsafe for general public, because phone numbers could become trivially cheap to fake within years - so you simply won't know who you talk to. With Signal, there are 3 points where a phone number can be faked: - phone company, - Signal itself, - Twilio that is used to deliver verification SMSs - and Signal phone verification was already compromised before via Twilio The same is likely to happen with email addresses, this happened just yesterday: xitter.cf/IntCyberDigest/status/… The design of SimpleX Network mitigates this risk by moving trust to connection authenticity from servers to cryptography and users' devices, making it much harder to compromise at scale. So it's not only the question of privacy, but also about trust - so you know that you talk to a person you know, and not to AI clone.

‼️ BREAKING: Revolut handed over customers’ passport copies, verification selfies and full transaction histories to a malicious actor. The actor sent lawful government information-demand emails using a genuine government domain that passed domain authentication. Revolut later concluded they were not authentic. Affected customers were notified on Friday. What may have been disclosed ranges from name, date of birth and home address to account statements, withdrawal records and complete Bitcoin transaction history. The company says it has alerted the agency to the unauthorised mailbox on its domain, blocked the address and begun notifying regulators. It has not named the agency, explained how someone obtained a mailbox there, or given a number of affected customers. ZachXBT, who circulated the notices, believes the incident was limited in size and aimed at high-net-worth users.

When I backed @epoberezkin in 2022, @SimpleXChat was just a Haskell terminal prototype. Today it has 500k active users, 20M messages a day, and $650k in unsolicited donations - and that's before launching domains or enterprise messaging. Here’s why I doubled down: simplex.chat/blog/20260908-n… Their community round is open on @Wefunder: wefunder.com/simplexchat

AI-enabled scams make everyone with a reachable address a target - one-time connection links in SimpleX Chat solve this problem.
To invite someone in SimpleX Chat, you need to share a one-time link, e.g. via email – it's secure. Ask to paste this link into the app. SimpleX Chat is the safest messenger – you only talk to people you shared the link with. And now you can get a stake in SimpleX Chat! 👇
