Residential cruise ship Odyssey enters lay-up in Cambodia amid soaring fuel costs After more than two years of sailing around the world, the residential cruise ship Odyssey has suspended operations in Sihanoukville, Cambodia. Operator says monthly fuel costs have risen from around $1,800 to $6,000–$8,000 per cabin in parts of Asia, prompting residents to disembark as the company pursues restructuring. According to #MarineTraffic data, the 196-metre, Bahamas-flagged vessel departed Sriracha Anchorage, Thailand, on 21 October and docked at Old Sihanoukville Port on 23 October, assisted by the tug Koh Takiev. She remains moored there. Over the past 12 months, Odyssey has travelled 35,885 nautical miles. However, her time underway fell to 34% over the last 30 days, compared with 51% across the past year, while her average speed decreased from 8.2 to 6.9 knots.
